Hey guys,

I'm pretty knew to these forums, just made this account 10 minutes ago, but i have been reading these forums for a while now.

Anyway,

I'm looking to buy some new headphones, I've read that the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro's are great Bass headphones and are also good at everything else.

But, I'm not sure whether to get the 250 OHM or the 80 OHM version. Which one sounds better with a Fiio E6 Amp. Which one can the Amp handle better?

Also, I've heard that the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro's are great headphones to, but which are better overall (preferably for Bass) the 770's or 990's? (Also which ones work better then the Fiio E6)

P.S

Does anyone recommend any other Headphones which have great Bass as well as everything else for under $200 which will work well with the Fiio E6 Amp, I'd love to hear it.

Also, 99% of the time I'll be using my phone to listen to the music which is a HTC Incredible S.

1 more thing, How do these compare to the Audio-Technica Ath-M50's?

Thank's ALOT!!!

I dont have a direct answer to your specific question, but if I'm not mistaken, the dt990s are open back so they will leak and fail to isolate. Based on pure conjecture, I'm guessing the 80ohm version will be easier to power with just an e6

Welcome to head-fi!

With the Fiio E6 the DT770 Pro 80-Ohm are about the only choice, the Fiio E11 would be needed for 250-Ohm headphones.

Alright looks like the DT770 Pro 80-Ohm are the best

My Fiio E6 arrived about 8 hours ago, seem to be able to power my DT770 Pro 250-Ohm headphones.
Using the E6 plugged into my Essence STX line-out jack.

Bro, I think anything less then 100 ohms should be fine to drive with an Fiio E6
I have to check, but all these models are suppose to be less then 100 Ohms.

Audio Technica ATH-M50s all the way. They are the UNDISPUTED KING in their price range - nothing even comes close. Nothing.

I'm only kidding - it's a topic of debate in another thread and some folks are losing their minds because the M50 is recommended so often to new head-fiers, almost to the point that it sounds like a Beats-bashing thread.
