So a quick poll of how many cans people have on the forum. Title says it all. List cans owned.

Arne; (6) hifiman he-4xx, AKG k712, AKG k270mkii, Sennheiser hd600, Superlux hd330, superlux hd681. IEM's, Kinera (forget model).

Think I'm currently at 17 headphones and 6 iems.

Compared with some of these other guys, I haven't even gotten serious yet.

Wow that's pretty crazy! At least I am not there yet! You could buy a car or at least a caravan for that!

Maybe at one point, I could buy a used one.

Here in the US, used car pricing is generally set by a company called Kelley Blue Book. In 2010, AutoTrader bought KBB so if you can imagine one of the largest used car marketplaces is now also setting the fair market value of those same used cars. All are owned by Cox Automotive, subsidiary of Cox Enterprises. They also have car Dealer integration tools, vin number lookups, etc. Cox Enterprises also owns one of the largest cable companies here and numerous TV and radio stations, plus an advertising division.

So not any more... trading in all headphones would probably get me a 2003 Kia with 260,000 miles on it.

Depends on how much you use each i guess? For me personally id consider having more than 2 headphones being hoarding. Over the last 2 years that i started my headphone journey ive aimed to keep 3 at most for my each specific use cases. Closed for noise isolation, open with focus on gaming, open with focus on music. And every time i had a "duplicate" the one i liked less would not see any use. And recently ive decided that i would just keep 2 headphones, since i didnt use my closed headphones at all.

My collection is as follows: Arya Stealth, HD660s, HD558, Kph30i, ATH-M50xbt, Dekoni Blue, SN V1, Moonlight, HiNode wave (Yes, I know the controversy with SJY).
I am planning on adding a Tungsten DS to my collection at some point (finances and catching it before it sells out again not withstanding). I also have several SS amps to power the headphones /w a Mjolnir 3 on the way. This hobby is a rabbit hole, it just depends on how fast you are falling through it!

Lets see ive got: Utopia 2022, HE1000se, Stellia, Clear MG, HD660s2, HD6xx, HD58x, Bathys, ie 600

I haven't gone crazy with source chains. Everything runs through Singxer SA-1 with DX7 Pro as a DAC only.

Head-Fi isn't that bad for me, 4 headphones and 4 IEM's.
My real issue is with HiFi speakers, as I have more sets of speakers than I have headphones 🤪

Well I think Jonathen above crushes us all (waiting for a couble of kebabs!), good so far. 4 IEM's is pretty good Lindholdt! You're a collector not a hoarder! Jonathen C may have crossed the line from enthusiast to hoarder though!

I actually think @jonathan c is more of a completionist.

Hopefully he doesn't find out ZMFs come in other woods.

Mine's pretty small as far as the collections here go. 1 planar headphone, 4 dynamic headphones, and 1 dynamic IEM.

Yes I have a whole file in my note-taking app to keep track of my current headphones.

And yes there's a similar file for my wishlist of ones to buy 🤣 🤣
