I am currently looking for a pair of closed-back headphones: that are good for hip-hop around the $60 price range. I do like a V-shaped sound, but not when it ruins the mids and highs. Below are the choices I currently have and I wanted to know which was the best:

LyxPro HAS-30: https://goo.gl/FYGP1o

Cleer Stereo Dual Driver DU: https://goo.gl/5YyR5o

(Not sure about this one) Status CB-1: https://goo.gl/yDtPxA

I have the Cleer DU. One of the few headphones I was able to demo and actually went home with. I would describe the sound as balanced, or close to. Bass is clean and present, but definitely not exaggerated. I don't listen to much hip hop, but I do have some Notorious and DJ Quik I listen to from time to time. When I'm in the mood, I'll listen to it on my M-Audio Q40s. These headphones have bass unlike anything I've owned or demoed to this point. Might be hard to find as they were discontinued, but they make Beats sound like a children's toy. I would Google best headphones for bass and add some options to your list.

If you go with the CB-1, just be prepared for some sub par build quality. The Cleer are some of the better built cans I've come across. Definitely built to last. Plus you can find them for 70 bucks A lot of bang for buck
