With the iPhone 7 rumored not to include a 3.5mm headphone jack, the interest in wireless headphones and earbuds may soon sharply rise. Not only in wireless Bluetooth earbuds, but in portable ‘wirefree’ Bluetooth earbuds (ear buds that have no wires at all). I personally would like to pick up a pair of wirefree earbuds, however I’m finding it difficult to find a pair that have consistent high reviews. Is this because portable wireless headphones/earbuds simply suck?
I just want some earbuds to use on the subway, that sound ok, but don’t have any cables that I will get mixed up in. I really want wirefree, however I keep reading over and over that wirefree is simply not there yet.

If anyone has experience with wirefree, please give me your 2 cents on them. Here are a few I was looking into:

I have Earin, Aria One and Erato Apollo 7. They all sounded good so you don't have to worry about SQ. As for Earin, use after market eartip to get a good sound and seal. I recommend you to get JVC spiral dots if available.
Some left/right drop outs could occur on all of them but not so much IMO. Earin is a bit weaker than other two on this.
I just used Apollo 7 in a crowded train this morning and don't have so much issue.

FYI, I wrote a review on Earin and Aria one (Japanese text) here.

I have the Earins and am very happy with the SQ, but the connectivity in open areas is pretty poor. Understand that the issue is the deep set antennas of the Earins need walls nearby to reflect signals emanating from the phone in a pocket on the body.

Are the Erato's similar in terms of SQ and bluetooth resilience?

Savfy Wireless Blutetooth headphones with portable charging case.

Half the amazon price.

Sound is ok but they drop out unexpectedly. Maybe the next generation will have a better reliability.

Edit: I forgot to mention it was paired with a cowon j3 (bluetooth 2.0) so it might fare better with a more up to date player.
