Hi,

My 1 year old pair of MT220 need to replace the earpad as both pads are suffering "skin off" issue.  However, I couldn't find any pads avaiable on any online shops.  could any one of the owners give me some hints on that?

Cheers!

Alpha pads from Mr Speakers have been reported to be quite nice on the HPH-MT220.

Pads are expensive though so YMMV

Please note that the MT-220 drivers are already angled. Together with the angled Alpha Pads you will be having drivers facing 30-40 degrees. I do not think it will be the optimum angle.

I believe the normal, less expensive dog pads for the Mad Dogs will be a better match for the MT-220.

Was just about to say the same thing. Some impressions re. the alpha pads on the MT-220 here:

Also worth taking a look through the MT-220 thread for an idea of what pads people have rolled. xxxfbsxxx seems to be getting good results with HM5 pads:

I suspect the Pandora Hope VI pads would sound good on these but sadly they have a semi-rigid plastic disc built into them (keeping them circular in shape) that puts paid to that idea.

Also, along with the ordinary HM5 pads, the thicker ones might have good results too.

Yup, xxxfbsxxx has just posted to say that it's the newer memory foam pleathers & velours that he's using. Although he also mentions the original HM5 pleathers are quite similar to the MT-220 pads, so they might yield good results too.

Certainly no shortage of options to try

ps. hope things are good with you. Still rockin' those D2K's?

Shure 840 pads might seem like they work too, surely the number of pads are endless!

PMed btw!

does anyone have a list or know, a couple of headphones earpads, that will work with the Yamaha MT-220?

more than has been mentioned here

Check out the MT220 thread, in which all the various pads have been compared:
