Would someone mind doing a comparison of these two cans? I'm in Chicago, going to try them out soon, so I'll post my impressions then, and let you know what I think. I'm also interested in what other head-fiers think of these cans if you've tried both of them out. (Also, I was thinking a Fiio e12 amp if I get the ZMF, and a JDS C5 for the Grados... Any comments on those?)

They're completely different. The ZMFs are on the warm side while the SR325is definitely isn't.

For the ZMF, I think the HE500 is the obvious upgrade (it was the route I was going to take until I realized that I more often than not am forced to use closed headphones). And I honestly don't think anything is an "upgrade" to a Grado other than another Grado, if you like their sound signature.

Ah. Well I'm getting my ZMFs retuned by Zach, but I have LCD-2 pads for them now. But I guess since I see you've bought the SR325is, that's not much help. You could look for different pads if you find them too bright for you.
