Hifiman makes something:

http://store.hifiman.com/index.php/products/he-adapter.html

That was for back in the day when the HE-6 ruled the roost, and needed to be connected to speaker taps...

I'd recommend avoiding the HE-Adaptor unless you absolutely need the additional resistance to plug into a tube amp. With a solid state amplifier it is much better to wire straight in. The HE-Adaptor does something awful to the damping factor that really screws up the sound. Big thumbs down, IMHO.

Semi-open kills it for my use case (open office environment),  currently using the Oppo PM-3 (or the Audio Technica M50X,  depends on how I feel any particular day).  For home use they could be the ticket.  I need to score some Zibros for the office - or try a pair of Fostex T50s - have yet to do that).

Barely hear anything though. Unless you're really cranking them.

The Omni's are about 90% closed, I usually tell people that unless they are in a Library type environment blasting tunes they will be fine.  You certainly won't hear anything from the outside, the concern more would be others hearing you if you listen to music loud.

I have to agree with Zach. I use my Omnis at work and have no problems at all with hearing people or people hearing my music when using them.

I run them balanced out of the Schiit Mjolnir 2 and the sound fantastic, fwiw.

Has anyone tried the Omni with the balanced output of the Schiit Jotunheim? Looks to be pretty powerful.

It's a wonderful combo. The Jotunheim is a neutral, slightly forward amp that has great synergy with the ZMF Omnis. It makes them sound livelier.

Would you say the Jotunheim sound is in line with the likes of the previous Schiit offerings?

I own a Valhalla 2, a Magni, and I have heard the Lyr 2 on several occasions. I must say that I haven't been able to identify a "house sound" in these amps as they all have their distinct topologies and characteristics. The one thing they have in common is a tendency for being pretty transparent and clear. I'd never call any of them "lush," not even the Lyr 2 which does have a (really) slight tilt towards warm.

That being said, the Jotunheim is even more brutal in its honest representation of whatever you feed it. More than of any of the other Schiit amps, it reminds me of a smoother, less grating HeadAmp GS-X Mk2. "Wire with gain," as they used to call Kevin Gilmore's designs.

I much prefer the Jotunheim to the Magni, Valhalla 2, and other amps I own (EC Zana Deux, WooAudio WA6, Chord Mojo, AMB M³) for driving the Omnis. Using the balanced output, it gives them a pronounced sense of air and increases detail retrieval.

I'm also curious about how it compares to the Lyr 2 with LISST tubes.

Haven't heard the Lyr 2 with LISST, sorry. I have a Mjolnir 2 and a pair of LISSTs incoming, for what it's worth.
