great HP, the problem is they are so easy to drive that I have to listen to them on low gain with my envy ..they sound great straight out of the chord dave...they have a fantastic wide soundstage I really like them- jlbrach

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!
there is a large contingent of people who revel in being reverse snobs...mocking and looking their nose down at anything that costs more than a few hundred dollars...take 10 minutes and look at the ASR website...it is kind of strange to be honest...these people will swear all DAC's and amps...- jlbrach

I agree, it is better than all to me other than the susvara and abyss 1266 in the planar world...to me they are in the class of a caldera with a bigger soundstage...to me a fair bit better than the utopia 22..lcd-5 and expanse and stealth...the RAAL offerings are ribbons and different so I wont...- jlbrach

interesting I bought the formula s/powerman combo years ago and used it and loved it with the abyss 1266 and thought it simply wasnt up to driving the susvara so I cant disagree with your view...the susvara needs a great chain although I think the forula s combo is top notch although not quite...- jlbrach

HiFiMan Susvara
I must say reviews like this to me are comical...I own both the susvara and 1266 and love them both..the 1266 is a great HP,one of a kind IMHO and there tons of reviewers and people who love it...a review like this is so extreme as to render is useless IMHO..if he said he liked a different sound...- jlbrach

true regarding the 1266 but in general I have noticed that wider soundstages tend not to accentuate bass unless it is specially tuned to- jlbrach

I think the wider soundstage tends to disperse the impact of the bass somewhat...at least that was the way I heard it but both have very impactful bass- jlbrach

actually incredibly you got my comment 100% wrong...I was not pissed off that somebody might take a dislike to the envy, just the opposite..I was asking why anyone would care or be upset if somebody had a critical opinion of the envy with 1000 positive views out there etc...geez...my post was...- jlbrach
