Focal Arche: Anyone compared to other options in its price range?

The Arche gets hot yeah, but it's not an issue for me. I do not think it is going to roast the headphones. I wouldn't worry about it. As for complains, I agree with Gadget67: - I would prefer a dedicated input control instead of pushing in the volume knob - A remote would be a nice-to-have...

Focal Arche: Anyone compared to other options in its price range?

I love it! I bought it with the Clear so I got the $1000 discount. I can't speak to comparisons with other $2,500 headphone amps, but for $1500 I think it's a really good value as it's a robust headphone amp and a flexible DAC, and the built in headphone stand is nice. I haven't A/Bed it with...

Focal Arche: Anyone compared to other options in its price range?

Thanks for the inputs guys. Appreciate the feedback, though in my experience the devil is in the details and spec sheets do not tell the whole story. There really is no substitute for 1st hand listening experience. I'm also considering a Feliks Elise, though would need to put a DAC in front of it

Focal Arche: Anyone compared to other options in its price range?

Hello, Have you heard the Focal Arche and compared to other similarly priced headphone amps? Any good? What are your thoughts or impressions? I would be using it to driving either/both: - Focal Clear - Sennheiser HD650 Does it have enough juice for the HD650? Thanks!

    Amp/DAC options up to ~$500

I listened to a bunch of the newest amps at CanJam this year. Without spending crazy money, the Schiit audio amps are So.... Good.... They are the easy choice for under $1k IMHO!   For me, the $349 OTL tube amp was right on the money. I forget what the matching DAC is, but this is an EASY...

Deep (but not thumping) Bass, Dark/Gentle/Relaxed Closed Headphone Recommendations?

They are not closed, but have you tried the Sennheiser HD650 (or some 600s or 580s for the budget). They are so, so good and my all around favorite headphone for not-insane money. Update the cable on them and you are in business. The sound is just as you desure: Warm, smooth, great bass (but not...

    Recommendation for new IEMs

Great question - Two brands of IEMs that I love are both Shure and 1More. Looks like Niouke beat me to it! As you go up the price range, the Shures just keep getting better and better.   My personal pair of IEMs is the Shure SE846. They are a tad pricy at $1K (ouch!) but they are just so damn...
