Is A&K intentionally withholding Roon ARC from the SR35 and SE300 simply because these aren't top of the line DAPs? There doesn't seem to be any other reasonable explanation. Please eliminate the whitelist, it's such a pain to work around.
Roon Arc is available in KANN Ultra which is a mid-tier line player.

I know thanks to the posts here with people confirming it worked on the SR35, it was being tested. I haven't had an update. Let me find out. I've been slammed with prep for CanJam NYC next weekend.

@JasonNYC
Why is the output always at full volume when connecting a USB-C DAC to the SR35? I would like to be able to use it with my Moondrop May IEMs that has a built in DSP/DAC in the cable. With DSP IEMs becoming more popular there should be an option to control the volume on the SR35. I think this is a strange limitation since one should be able to use a USB-C DAC without built in volume control also.

The USB is a digital audio output so the volume control does not work, just like if you were using the line out function through the headphone jacks.

Please note, per the instruction manual, we do not recommend connecting USB DACs to any AK DAP through the USB Audio out.

That's a bummer. I have to use my phone to listen to my DSP IEMs then when I'd really would like to use my SR35.

Did anyone try the iBasso PB5 with the SR35? Is the non-dedicated line-out an issue? I like the form factor of SR35 but I'd like to turn it up to 11 when I'm more stationary :)

It has a dedicated "line out" mode which is actually quite brilliant through analogue 3,5 because you can change the voltage to suit another amp. The line out for the digital usb is also what you could call line out, since it's volume fixed.

Thanks for the response! I tried it out myself since the PB5 arrived anyway :) yes it does work and it's quite good for a non dedicated line out, minimal hissing. Voltage settings are quite brilliant since PB5 has a max voltage intake and I have to eyeball the gain and volume on other devices.

My SR35 is in for repair for about 3 weeks now. A stuck pixel from the time I unboxed it. Just want to report to the group. I actually have no issues with one stuck pixel but think it will lower the resale value when I want to upgrade in a few years so I decided to send it in.

I am not pleased to report that the rear panel of my SR35 is starting to detach again. I do not notice any battery swelling, this time.

Next firmware update for SR35 is expected in April and will add support for Roon Arc on the SR35. Roon Arc support will also be added to SE300 in an April firmware update.
