ive been looking for budget tube or hybrid amps for my hifiman 400i. i really liked the little dot 1+. ive looked at a few other but never tried them like tor audio roger (theres one for sale here), hagerman tuba, and maybe another.

what are your favorites?

The Schiit Vali 3 seems like a no-brainer, at $149. Also, XDuuo has some small, inexpensive tube amps.

wich xduoo sound and perform good to you?

i forgot to include in my OP: if its a solid state amp with a tube buffer, i have zero interest.

I have both the Tor Audio Roger and a Xduoo TA-26, and I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. I will say that for my planers I prefer the Tor Audio, as it is OTC and handles the planar's better.

No. Just something I've enjoyed doing my whole life.

It's hard to go wrong with the Schiit Vali 3. The previous ones had some issues but they've had 3 generations to improve on it. I've had hybrids like the liquid platinum and it's just not the same. Could get a DAC that has tube effects to get that sound, would just go for the real thing for $150.

I am, for the price I think it is great. But I don't have any experience with higher end tube gear, so I don't have many reference points.
I'm sure the TA-66 is great too
Using mine with HD650, and ha e the HD600's coming soon, to find out which model I prefer.

I've just listened to HD600 today after a while...
I got new pads from Aliexpress today, swapped the stock, connected to Loki mini and...hmm, it was pretty interesting

Even with a cheap combo like Topping E10/Schiit Magni Heresy and Schiit Loki mini with bass boost.

HD600 sounded pretty exciting...not neutral and boring anymore
