Chinese Opamps

Yes, I've got them installed in a topping D10s and I've put one in a very old QED digit DAC. They both sound great and I have tried a lot of different op amps but at the moment I'm very happy with the performance of the Oracles. I may swap them out for something different in the future just to do a comparison.

Makes me feel sort of dirty, but... could you describe their sound? :)

Does the D10s have the DIP-8 sockets?

Yes, and it's easily accessible.

I found them much "warmer" sounding than most of the "chip" op amps I have tried. I find that I can listen for hours without getting fatigue. They did take a week or two before they "settled in". Don't expect miracles though - the differences are subtle, but I have found them pleasing. I'm definitely glad I tried them, and at the price they are, it's certainly worth trying them out in your system. Sorry I can't describe the sound of them better than that.

That's fine, haha

Actually, Whelkie D ...how do they settle in? Do they sound a bit crap at first?

Ordered an Oracle II-02. Give it a shot.

Still poking around for info on all these things.
This guy describes the sound as thin, bright, detailed and seriously lacking in bass:

Just noticed oracle III is out. Quite a hefty price increase from II.

Not sure of the providence of these units. I got mine from an official Aliexpress seller promoted by Sonic Scientific on their facebook page.

But here is someone taking a couple of Oracle II-02's apart.
The claim is that there are OPA1612's inside, but this video is inconclusive as regards evidence.

I'd also like to know what op amp is in a Burson v5i... how it all works.

The Oracle II-02 hisses. Tried it in two different devices, and it's so noisy.

Don't know whether it's QC, or it's not happy in the circuits... or that's just the way it is. It was relatively less hissy in the second device, but it was still... utterly noisy. Not clean.

No unusual behavior in my devices. Lack of QC?
