For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

Rifts (2009), Oneohtrix Point Never

Who'd have thunk that Daniel Lopatin, the Canadian dude doing wild retro-synth experiments in the early '00s, would go on to produce some of the biggest and best pop albums and some of the most memorable film scores in the present? Certainly not me. What's really wild is that for as much as his style and visibility have changed his music, this collection of his early EPs still stands tall among his best and more recent work. Fantastic stuff from beginning to end.
Oneohtrix is so great, especially love The Age Of. That album just drips nostalgia but in a really futuristic way lol sounds weird to explain but it’s true.

Ha. Total contrast to the one time I caught him live (ca. 2010) in Chicago. It was surreal for totally different reasons. It was a venue that was set up like a middle-school auditorium with metal folding chairs arranged in a few rows. Daniel Lopatin stood in front with all of his gear on some cheap folding tables. Fluorescent lights blared overhead the whole time. Two (again, foldable) projection screens were set up behind him. No stage. And he just stared at his laptop fiddling while his music played. Totally surreal.

Great album for late night listening.
Still sporting the Fostex TH-909’s. Their dynamics are really something with studio albums like this.

It's the secret sauce that makes his music work. It's also what makes his production work on The Weeknd's Dawn FM so insanely good. Sounds as much (or more) of a Oneohtrix album than an album by The Weeknd.

xDUoo TA-26S--->Sennheiser HD600 (good combo)
It's still an interesting amp, but it's not what I expected. I didn't do thorough homework.
Several pages on the Head-Fi thread, and I would have known better, but it turned out to be a good thing;
I got almost everything I previously wanted in the last SS amp.

It's crisp sounding and has extension in treble/mid and bass regions.
HD600 sound more exciting (bass is there now :) ), less flat...I'd rather use clear/crisp terms than just bright.

Let me know if anyone has a recommendation for tubes that would make it sound more warm and tubey.

I would recommend this little thing unless you are not exclusively looking for a tube sound.

One Of A Kind (1979) by Bill Bruford - His solo band before going full on jazz with Earthworks, very ably aided by Allan Holdsworth, Jeff Berlin and Dave Stewart. It leans towards the rockier end of the fusion scale and was a fine vehicle for showing off their individual talents. I'm still smitten by the V222 and am quite amazed at how much more grunt the HD800S have due to the extended and tight bottom end of the amp, it's literally making everything sound better as it matches my tastes perfectly. :darthsmile:
