If I HAD to pick the best post hardcore record ever recorded… this would be in the conversation for sure. Top 3. One of the best live sets I have ever seen, I saw them perform this record in an auto shop garage with 30 other people. Singers energy is still unmatched, 14 years later.

They are doing a final tour soon, hope to catch them.

FFO - Glassjaw, Deftones, Refused

Riverside - Love, Fear and The Time Machine

I'm a bit musically frustrated 🥴
This is a great album, and I like listening to it. But all along I catch myself thinking "But Albion - Lakesongs of Elbid is better...", I've kinda been a bit ruined by that album, as I like it so much 😁 At leat when it comes to this genre.

I've got the HD600's on my head, and they are plugged into the Aune S17 Pro, which is getting it's signal from the R7 🎶

roon > SMSL SU9 > Violectric HPA V222 > Grado RS-1x :musical_note::musical_note::musical_note::L3000::musical_note::musical_note::musical_note:

Powerage (1978) by AC/DC - Well I finally took the HD800S off and put the RS-1x on and whoa, am I glad I did. This is easily the best I've ever heard this album, Angus and Malcolm are really digging the tones out of their guitars, there's just so much bite and crunch, Riff Raff sounds absolutely savage. My favourite on the album though is Sin City and what a masterpiece it is, the twin guitars are just vicious, Bon Scott's vocals are some of his best and Cliff Williams does a hell of a job on bass, not bad for his debut album. The V222 has certainly taken the RS-1x up several notches, gone is the occasional shoutiness, they sound a lot smoother yet even punchier than they were on the SH9 (THX 888) - I'm in rock'n'roll nirvana. :darthsmile:

Track 2 is so much fun. Of course, the rest of the album is great as well. Prog metal in the same light as VOLA, TesseracT, and Periphery.

Sony hap-z1es-> Ferrum Hypsos Oor-> Abyss Diana TC

The First Day (1993) by David Sylvian & Robert Fripp - My first time hearing this collaboration between Sylvian and Fripp with assistance from Trey Gunn on Chapman stick and Jerry Marotta on drums. It's quite different to Fripp's King Crimson albums, featuring a lot more ambient music as a backdrop for him to fill with guitar. I haven't heard it enough to pick any favourites but Firepower sounds pretty damned good but then so does the next one. This kind of music works really well with the HD800S, they give the music lots of space to fill and with all the ambient sounds it really does sound full - but in a good way. :darthsmile:

One of my favorite live albums. Cockburn is such a great guitarist and songwriter, has a good band with him for this album. I have seen him a number of times and he mostly plays solo gigs, so hearing the whole band is a treat.
Hifiman HEK Stealth are singing nicely off the Aune S17 pro and Musician Pegasus
