Hi, @Joe Bloggs ! Have you or your engineers heard anything about the global Balance control not working? This slider appears to have zero effect on my digital/USB output to an external DAC (whereas the global PEQ does):

I have not had a chance to test it with the regular analog outputs yet (PO or LO) because I only need balance compensation for room correction and when I play my speaker chain I use an external DAC.

Oh that's a bummer? But if you have a room correction impulse response you can simply gain up or down the respective channel of the wave file to achieve balance control? Anyway I'll let them know.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t work well for me because only about half of my listening on R6 Pro II is with my speakers, so the balance slider is the quickest and easiest option (if it worked). Also, I don’t know how to apply those types of changes to lossless Apple Music that I stream in, which is 95% of my listening.

The regular PO & LO both work for me as have just tested them, cannot test the usb as do not have a cable for that.

Thanks for confirming. This is fine then, it is what it is. I am glad to hear that it works as intended. It is my own problem to deal with then.

I’m not sure how accurate that table is. I saw another version of the same table last night that said R6 Pro II had Turbo mode when I knew for a fact that it didn’t. They corrected that, but who knows what else might still be wrong.

Sorry to post here, but I discovered on the R4 thread that a global PEQ has been introduced in recent FW releases but I cannot find the information elsewhere :
R5G2 seems to have the same old Android than R5, R6, R6Pro, so could it still have updates ? including GEQ/PEQ ?
What about R6III then ?

I managed to snag a great deal on an r6 pro II and I’ve got to say, what an absolutely incredible DAP. Paired with an external amp this is playing at a very high level.

oh wait. There's a balance module in audio plugins as well. I think that would work for you. Can you try and report back?

So R5G2, despite its oldish UI and CPU will receive this update ? This might be the last one before it goes to the EOL products list...

I have a friend who uses the R6III ; to me the battery life is a bit on the short end (15hrs in theory, probably 10-12 in real life use for me), but I plan to get one, either during sales, or second hand... because I'm a bit concerned about app compatibility with Android 8.1 in the next years.

Hi everyone

relatively newbie here.

So I have been looking at dap models for the last 6 months and I bought a Hiby R6 Pro 2 on Wednesday and got it today.
I used the instructions in this thread to fix its case. I didn't get much time to actually listen to anything...

It was a pain to get it to recognize 1.30 existed, I had to do a few system resets before it even found it.
It seemed to install okay but on restart I was left with a black screen and the only sign of life is the blue led on side.

How do you power this off without a screen? I tried holding power button in for ages but all that did was turn light off.


is there anyway to flash firmware externally? since screen isn't showing any signs of working? I normally deal with PC's and they have ways now.

I have contacted the store I bought it off and will probably arrange a replacement and hope it doesn't happen again.

I only got to use it for 6 hours. 2 hours charging, 4 hours messing with firmware. I don't like messing with firmware as it can end badly...

I also had problems getting tidal to log me in, it kept thinking I was a bot and I couldn't do anything with the captchas it showed me. I use tidal on PC and phone on same IP and never get any problems.. Is it a Hiby thing?
