There are a few threads mentioning the HM901 but none seems to be dedicated to the device.  Is there a need to start one at this point?

Agree.  Not much news, at least not on this forum.  The ibasso DX100 seems to have stollen the spot light.  Fang needs to whip the fire up with updates on the HM901.

Well the HM-801 is now out of production and has been for a while, which is more reason for Fang to put the HM-901 on a fast track.

Yes all five of them, it doesn't even say what's inside.  Just like iBasso sanding off the op-amp chip in DX100, loses customers.

No display, no real specs, looks like a DIY reject that just discovered FPE.

At the price he's charging its not as if he needs to sell thousands to recover his dev costs 

 I very much doubt the kind of customers he's targetting care what the tech is, they just want the sound. My guess is he's using TDA1545 or something from that family.
 
The website I linked says its 'ARM Cortex' based but one of the pics shows an LPC2000 series which is an older ARM7 I believe.

so the offical prices of the hm-901 are out. Based on Fuijyaavic store prices, without the stand the unit cost 100 000 JPY and with stand it cost 150 000 JPY (around 1600 USD!) 
 
If I wanted spend 1600 on a unit my options would be WIDE open!
