Would anybody be willing to purchase for me and send to uk I can then then payment via PayPal ?

I second the question.

I signed up to find help specifically to this problem.

In case someone is willing to order me the components (let's say 4 sets of everything) I would pay by paypal (or direct transfer) and extend a heartfelt invitation for a week here into beautiful Luxembourg in Europe.

In the meantime I'll try to find out more from the European Service centers listed on the official Denon homepage.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Great job Gradofan2. I ordered two sets. Local Ace didn't have a precision nut driver set but it prompts the question: metric or US Standard?

I'd have to check them... and... I'm not at there location, right now... but... I think metric.  Best, to just go to ACE Hardware and get both and try them, and return the ones that don't fit.

However... I think they're "metric."

Also... you may have to "sand" down the walls of the driver with emory cloth, or sandpaper, to get it to fit into the hole around the nut.

And how do I repair this, anyone can help me?

Again... have you tried Denon Parts yet?  I would guess they'll have the part for you - though, it may come as part of the cable...

Let us know what you're able to find in the EU... and... we'll see.  But... they must have a Denon Parts distributor in the EU - since its a Japan product.  I'm sure the Denon distributor can direct you to the Parts Distributor in the EU.

Hello everyone!

I have contacted various centers and it seems they are willing to  sell the parts.

Those outside the US can simply email the service shops  listed on the official Denon page for their country (neighbouring country).

Please doing so, be prepared to know which parts exactly you need. The numbers are the same for all countries.

You can refer to the picture in this post (it's for AH-D2000, but I'm sure it applies to some of the other models as well) The ordering codes corresponded with the ones in the first post..

Good luck!

Did we ever figure out which size precision nut driver is required?

Thanks for the sleuthing!

One question, though: how does one remove the cap (p/n 7-9) to get access to the hex bolt underneath?

Does it just pop off with a screwdriver? Does the force required to get it out basically ensure that it will be cosmetically scarred? (In which case, the part is cheap, so just order an extra!)

And if so, how does one get it back in securely?

Just wanted to say Thank YOU!!! for the information in getting these headphones repaired.

I emailed Luigi and he sent me an exploded-view diagram of the headphones, which made it very easy to order the right parts!

Best,

Bhavesh
