You guys have tickled my interest in the HEV70... I've never listened through my HEV70 because one of the pins on the power adapter broke.

I'll see if I can buy one from Sennheiser...

Recabling stats can be remarkably easy, actually. Buy a stax extension cable, snip off the female connector and solder the cable onto the drivers; all you need is someone who has some experience with a soldering gun. And a multimeter.

200w solder gun and plastic drivers...

Damn, I just laid out for the O2, don't make me interested in this

One of the few high-end headphones I haven't heard yet.

I guess that means that I shouldn't feel bad since I still have the pleasure of listening to them for the first time?

The headband pad is ridiculously difficult to get hold of. I was lucky to be able to buy two from a spares website about a year ago. I'll see if I can get another couple since they were pretty darn cheap.

I got one from Sennheiser about six months ago or so.

I'm wondering what you make of the following (my guess in bold italics):
(009) System holder with protecting cover metal grille + plastic surround - should be great news for those who dented theirs, but at $13 it may be too good to be true
(003) Capsule holder, right complete probably the plastic forks
(004) Capsule holder, left complete ditto above
(005) Plate huh?
(010) Suspension huh? x2
(007) Cap complete huh? x3
(011) O ring 62.0x1.5 most likely the rubber band which holds the stator down

I love that velvet pad on the leather earcups. So comfortable and anti perspiration, especially this week of heat in SoCal. I have the HE60 on as I type b/c EH1.2b leather pad is causing some sweating in this weather.
