great thanks for all the feedback! I was looking at ordering the poly as well but hesitated as I plan on using the mojo with my iPad Pro. I'm so tempted to get some new headphones as I am just now appreciating the headphone world but I can see there's just too many options and I need to get familiar with the current hardware first. If I can wait until Axpona in April, I can then do a better job picking the next headphone.

McIntosh MHA200 Impressions

....I just saw the Hedd's are on sale and wondering how they pair with the MHA200/chord combo? I have a room system with Maggie 1.7's each powered by PSAudio M700s and it is my favorite for jazz and vocals (they really need power to sound their best). would I expect a similar experience with the Hedd AMT's or should I be looking into the planar cans ?

Mojo + MHA200If that's an MHA100 issue, @TSAVJason would probably know more about why that's happening.
Nice! That should sound roughly similar to my rig.
I've heard, but not owned, the MHA100 and MHA150. They're interesting lifestyle products, in that they tried to cover a lot of ground. But in the end, I didn't like the way they sounded with headphones - a bit too thick for my tastes.
If you decide to add a Poly later, you can AirPlay music to the Mojo2Poly (via AirPlay v1 - the lossless one). It's a small thing, but it's nice not having your iPad Pro constantly tethered to the Mojo.
It was designed to work with a preamp, yes, but I simply adjust the volume knob as needed. I can understand the OCD behind not liking the unity gain detent, but honestly, it's really not that big of a deal.
MHA150 and DT1990? Or Mojo and MHA200?

Had a good listen to this one on Friday, Really liked what I heard, and the 200 shares with my MC275VIs that blend of pitch-black background and genuine dynamic jump. Love the impedance switch, less so the volume setup.
But it would be a very nice add to my C22/75s rig...

Well so far a good two days of listening..
first impressions with the beyerdynamics is that it takes a noticeable edge off the mid-higher frequencies which is a welcome improvement to my ears as the 1990’s can give me a bit of fatigue in long listen sessions. The mojo2 sounds very nice as well. I’ve stacked the mha200 above the mha100 in my rack so after a few more days as I get used to the new system I’ll do the A/B comparison.
I’m also now appreciating the poly concept, I’m getting too lazy to shuffle around the cords to change music, so I may just have to get the poly as suggested.

If you like Maggies you'll probably like the HEDDphone. Just be aware that the fit of the HEDDphones can be awkward for some, and they are rather heavy. I just happen to be one of the few for which the HEDDphone fits/seals well - and I don't mind the weight as I've been weight-training my neck with Audezes for about a decade - but your mileage will very much vary.

It's like the audio equivalent of a paper cut... such a small and trivial thing, but oh so irritating! One additional benefit of the Poly is that you can put a Micro SD card in it with a truckload of your favorite music. So for those rare times when Internet goes down and you can't stream, you can still play music (via DLNA).
thanks for the feedback on the Hedds, I'm really restraining myself from just ordering them, but I see on the website they're teasing a new release...plus I've already dropped way to many $'s impulsively, and I know I need to really try as many as I can before I jump...just have to be patient :0

Yeah, the OG has serious clamping force so I suggest trying them first because they can squeeze your head pretty good if your head is on the wide sidethanks for the feedback on the Hedds, I'm really restraining myself from just ordering them, but I see on the website they're teasing a new release...plus I've already dropped way to many $'s impulsively, and I know I need to really try as many as I can before I jump...just have to be patient :0

Hey Thanatos,I asked this in the announcement thread but maybe it fits better here.
What are the tubes it gets shipped with.
They are branded McIntosh, but that is only a branding right?
And can you replace the 12BH7A with 6SN7 when using an adapter?
I know one is Noval the other Octal but electrically I heard they were identical.
How does the MHA200 compare to the Envy in your signature? I know there’s a world of difference in price but sound wise, power wise, build wise etc what can you say to help me. Thanks
