Hey Thanatos,
How does the MHA200 compare to the Envy in your signature? I know there’s a world of difference in price but sound wise, power wise, build wise etc what can you say to help me. Thanks

Unfortunately I don't have a MHA200 for a direct comparison, therefore I can't really comment on most things.

I know that the Envy is much more powerful and therefore probably a better fit for Susvara and Expanse/Stealth

Quick question for you…
If I wanted to avoid using the volume on the MHA200 could I run my MHA150 into it and my source into my MHA150? That way I can connect to the XLR on the front of the MHA200 and get that tube flavor?

If that’s the case would the MHA200 be used as a preamp and the volume from the MHA150 could control it?

Lastly if all that is correct and true can you please tell me how to connect the two McIntosh amps to get my desired result?

Yes! You can come out of the MHA150 single ended (RCA) in to the MHA200. Then set the gain control to that detent position on the MHA200 so it’s in unity gain configuration. After that you just plug your sources into the MHA150 and you’re good to go. This makes me think you tried it with the wrong headphones or something because the sound of this amp is in no way thin or unemotional. Quite the opposite, it sounds full and lush. It's borderline magical with Susvaras. I honestly think the only people that should maybe steer clear of this amp are those that prefer a cooler, more analytical amp.

Does it have enough power for the Susvara’s?

I have favorites:
MCINTOSH MHA200
Feliks Audio Euforia Evo
CAYIN HA-3A
AURIS HA2 SE

What do you think is the best choice - for jazz, vocals, pink floyd etc.
To handle Empyrean well. Have enough energy.

I have the Cayin Ha-3a and the McIntosh MHA200 and the Cayin is more linear while the Mac is more tubey. I prefer the Mac

Yes. Both are phase inverted circuits so you’ll still receive a phase inverted version of balanced

- Anyone been using the MHA200 directly with a diana v2 and care share thoughts?

- Does anyone own or got to listen to both mha200 and wa7 3rd gen and can share insights? As I am lookin to replace the wa7 3rd gen with the mha200.

- Are you using the mha200's volume knob directly?

So I may have forgot to tell you that you need to switch the MHA150 to speaker output to complete the circuit
That is probably why it isn’t working for you yet. Wayne is taking photos for you now to show you the connections but you probably have it correct already.
