  I'm hoping that since Fiio has not made an official announcement here, or on their English site that this might not be the final version. I do know that the fw for one of the new players is supposed to have the genre problem fixed - I would think that we'd get that too.
 
Anyways for what it's worth, here's a preliminary release of my themes. I haven't tested it much, so there could be some issues

After listening various genres, my prefered stuff, sound has greatly improved, no doubts now.
 
Even snare drums sound cleaner.

I do have to agree with you Paulus.  It sounds cleaner, imo, but still disappointed about no ReplayGain and Album art.

No doubts, big disappointment, but right now, the SQ alone is doing it for me. Think it sounds as good as X5 (by memory).

Had a preliminary look into the new firmware. The .ini files seem to be the same. Did you notice any changes?

Yes, but considering that the post was on the Chinese site 3 days ago and we're just hearing about it now makes me think something isn't right - especially considering the existing problems still exist

Honestly, I haven't even looked at the new fw. I just dumped the new bin into my old theme, seen that nothing failed dramatically, and uploaded it. I'm not going to put much time into it until we get word from Fiio that this is it.
 
I suppose now in hindsight, I should've tried the stock fw first to see what's what

Had to reduce treble quite a bit in the EQ and I'm a die hard treble-head. Sounds amazing.
 
Hope FiiO tells us something asap about this.

Nope. Absolutely the same.
I really like the new firmware. It does sound great.

It's like getting a better player or even better phones. Sounds really good after a couple+ hours with it.
