Looks like it's essentially the same product apart from a new DAC. That's not a criticism just an observation.
Also the amp stage is a little bit different

current mode amplification remains a mystery to this layman. i am under the impression that the cma circuit converts voltage to current and then back to voltage again at the output stage. happy to be enlightened.

Looks like the gain control on the Eighteen is still 4 switches on the bottom of the device. What a joke lol
I don’t know if this was shared already, but is there an expected launch date for the Eighteen?

The gain control was the #1 complaint with the Fifteen, and they did not fix it.

The gain switches are on the PCB bottom for sound quality reasons.. to keep the shortest signal path possible.

But yes its inconvienient to operate them.
They could have used levers that stick though the chassis.

Only if its a relay but that wouldnt fit between the PCB en housing bottom.

Questyle assumed users have one headphone and would choose the gain once i guess.
