Schiit Lyr 3 Tube rolling thread.....

Looking to get the LYR+ or the Vioeletric 202, and sell my Lake People G111 Mk2. Has any one here had both and recommend one over another?
Not exactly the same but I had Lyr 3 and Violectric V200 and preferred the Lyr 3 over the V200.

I think Lyr 3 just wider and bigger sounding and more texture in general. Though Lyr 3 was a bit more laid back where as V200 was a bit more focused.

Though I always find the V200 seems to roll off the air which bugged me. Where as Lyr 3 was open and airy. That being said, build quality of V200 was top notch lol.

Looking great! How did those sound?

Also I saw this on the main page of Head-Fi:

https://www.head-fi.org/threads/best-of-the-best-meet-the-apos-ray-6sn7-reserve-vacuum-tube.971649/

Anyone tried any of the Apos Ray tubes yet? Are they any good?
Honestly, being pretty new to my Lyr, I am still trying to set a baseline with the the sylvania + find actual time to listen to it :L3000:
So I am at the stage where there's too many tubes, too little time ( though it takes a faction of a second to click buy on a new tube ) but I am so looking forward to trying them out in the near future!

If you've heard Psvane 6SN7s, then you've heard the Apos 6SN7s - same factory now with slick influencer marketing front end. :joy:

Check this convo in the 6SN7 thread.
And their ultra expensive Reserve is likely a PSVane CV181T Mark II (can be bought at less than half the price - not Amazon). They jacked up the price for the Mark II on Amazon to match the Reserve price. :L3000:

Are the Ken-Rads really worth the money? There was a pair of NOS 1940 Ken Rad 6SN7GT that was sold at around US $232.50 on ebay.
Or is this one of the "it is only worth it if you got sensitive ears" kind of situation ( or because I don't own any one of them Ken-Rads so I am trying to convince myself that they maybe ain't worth the money??)

I've been running the Psvane UK6SN7 since I got my Lyr+ and really love the look and sound. So far it's the only tube I've tried with the Lyr+ and have been satisfied. I had some money to burn after selling my Midgard and went and ordered the Psvane CV181T Mkii which I should have Monday the latest. I'll let it run for a couple hours before I give it a listen but I'm curious to see which I'll prefer

Great looking stack! I've been seriously considering getting Bifrost 2 for my Lyr 3 partially because of how it looks together LOL.

Even if that doesn't sound good, it looks sexy as hell. I'm thinking about getting that later this year.

I can assure you Bifrost 2/64 looks great and sounds even better! Lol

Definitely a fan of the glass shape. Really aesthetic makes everything look fancy

Oh so you recommend BF 2/64 over BF 2 OG?
I personally like it better. The OG is pretty warm and colors the sound, but still detailed. The 2/64 is neutral and more detailed with a bit better imaging/staging. They're both smooth after break in

I prefer to add warmth at the amp as opposed to the DAC so easy choice for me. Regardless, they're both great

New tube has arrived! Gonna be burning it in all day but wasn't able to keep away for long so I gave it a listen after being on for about 30 minutes. I really love the Psvane tubes having been using the UK6SN7 and now the Cv181 T mkii. Not gonna be doing any A/Bing since it's kinda difficult with tubes and warm up times.

Initial impressions are that the sound is a bit more full and musical. It's a lush sound without being overly smooth or warm. Spacial presentation is big like the UK, imaging and separation was a bit more precise. I noticed some busy passages had a bit more clarity.

Perfect pairing with the Arya V2 just as the UK was.
