Schiit sent me a Magni + and I had it here for a week and took it apart and posted my experience.

Just ordered a silver Magni Heretic to replace my 2016 vintage Magni 2U.

I maintain a budget setup for contrast with my end-game… Makes me enjoy the end-game more, actually!

Anyways, I’m looking forward to using the Heretic with my Sundaras (an awesome value) paired with a silver Pro-ject Dac Box S FL old-skool NOS (try and find, if you can!)

Just played around with the Magni+ (at Hight Gain) paired with the Modi+ and modded HD650. These 2 are my 1st Schiit devices and I'm very impressed - pulls out some more details from the tracks I usually listen to. Not the darkest background from what I can percieve. But imaging is a definite improvement. Highs are crisp and sharp. Bass is plentiful but not enhanced. The well known mids of the 650 is maintained but intimacy is a notch down.

Still A/Bing...but the K7 is a touch warmer with the Modi+/Magni+ being more detailed, more open staging....Tidal seems to sounds more detailed with the Modi+/Magni+.

Still too early to say who is "better", will give it a few more days to let the "new toy syndrome" pass.

Frankly speaking, I think my HD 6XX sound more boring and harsh from Magni 3+ instead of DIY OTL. K7 is more like OTL, better separation and listenablility. Only 6XX, low import cans are ok.

Could you please provide your impressions of listening on HD650 connected to Magni+ and xDuoo ?
I have the xDuoo as well and was thinking of replacing it with Magni+. Your input would help me make an informed decision.

An additional question: what tubes do you have in your xDuoo? I have RCA 6AS7 and 6SN7 EH Gold.

I still have stock tubes installed on my TA-26. My EH 6SN7 Gold and 6080WA is still in transit.

I can tell you as early as now that the pairing of OTL and the 650's is simply sublime! I also have the 600 and the 660S and as the industry said, OTL pairing with these cans are simply awesome! I would keep both - one if I want to immerse myself in the music and one to reveal the more upbeat side of these cans.

If I buy Magni+ (or Heretic) and keep xDuoo, I will pair it with DT1990 Pro or DT TYGR 300R.

Schiit doesn't have an authorized distributor in Singapore, so I just purchased them direct from their website.
