Perhaps he meant will the CD Player work with a computer by being the playback device that a computer can "rip" the music from to its hard disc drive?

Well, EC3 has optical, coaxial and RCA output, if you want to run it into some digital input on computer or ADC, then yes, you can sort of use it this way.

But EC3 doesn't work as CD ripper.

One would need a simple optical to USB adapter so that the output of the CD player to the input of a computer, correct?

Hello,

To Shanling contact :

When I received the EC3 in January, I was really happy about the form factor, the top loading, the embedded functions and both the simplicity of this player.
The addition of AptX and AptX HD last October is really nice, even if LDAC works perfectly. Thanks for this nice update !

One thing to highlight is the ease of use of BT connection; once paired the EC3 connects really quickly and with no hassle every single time, which is not the case with every BT device I use...
But I expected to be able to connect from time to time BT capable headphones, using the EC3 as a source, and this is obviousely not the case. Would it be possible to use the BT chip as a transmitter, thus allowing to use this CD player together with BT headphones ?

(I saw Ampak AP6256 is capable of Rx/Tx and even WiFi !)

Another nice feature is the abilty to play tons of different file formats from a USB disk/stick or an SDcard. But it is mandatory to use Eddict Player, which needs multiple steps to get it going (go into configuration, set BT to SyncLink, go back to USB source, open Eddict player on the smartphone, set client mode, scan music, then play...).

As the interface is quite minimalistic but still has a graphical UI like some entry-level players, and uses a Ingenic x2000 processor, could it be possible to have a embedded player in order to navigate the files ?

Best,
Florian.

IMHO, Shanling really hit it out of the park with its EC3. The same is true of the company's ET3 dedicated transport. 👍

Sorry, but my english is not good enough to understand this statement; does it mean the EC3 and ET3 are really good devices in your opinion ?
(out of the park could mean they failed, for me, but I can guess the meaning can be positive also; if you can explain ?)
For which reasons it is true, in particular ?
Thanks for the input, as well as for OldRoadTod !

Yes, my statement means that both products are excellent for the money. 👍

Unfortunately not possible to use the EC3 as source for bluetooth headphones.

We suggested to software team to add a simpler user interface for file browsing right on the units for EC3/ET3/EH3, but so far they took no steps in this direction.
