M6 opens from back. Battery is glued to the back panel, so exchanging it is easy.

Yeah, it's the battery that's problem. not even 2 year since i buy the m6 pro, although i rarely used it (couple hour a week, sometime not even touch it for weeks). And the technician also said, some small caps also crack because pressure from the battery.

Can you give me the battery spec, just in case Linsoul can not send to Indonesia. What voltage, and physical size. I will try to find compatible battery here too

Batteries for our players are custom-made to order, they are not normally available on the market.

You can see if the technician is willing to go forward with this repair. Otherwise as I mentioned on previous page, it's possible to send your unit to our offices in China for out-of-warranty repair.

Left side is original one, the size already increase. Right side new one, technician claim its 5000mah.
Tested playing music, flac, se dual dac, volume at 37, it's totally empty in 9 hours 45 minutes. Not bad. One down side, it's totally shutdown although battery indicator is at 20%.

You could try a hard reset or do a android battery calibration listed below, there's also might be apps that do battery calibration.
  1. Let your phone discharge its battery until it turns itself off.

  2. Turn your phone on, and let it turn itself off again.

  3. Leaving your phone off, plug it into a charger and leave it alone until it indicates that it's 100% charged.

  4. Unplug your phone and turn it on, then check the battery indicator to see if the battery is at 100%. If so, you're all set. If not, plug it back in until it says it's charged to 100%. You may need to repeat these steps several times, to get your phone as close to 100% as possible.

Already do that. Because I'm curious, i install app that can track battery percentage. After when it reach 20%, it's still drain battery fast, about 1% a minute.

Already doing it several times (although not on purpose).

After i install this app, i can see that after 20%, it will be drop significantly, almost 1% per minutes. So it immediately shutdown, it just drop significant if under 20% until it reach 0 and turn off

Can I ask you what battery tracking app you are using? Thanks.

Installed the new 1.25 FW in the M6 Pro 21.

Downloaded and installed the new 1.25FW and had a sort of interesting but easily fixed issue: I installed the firmware and everything went smoothly but my Bluetooth volume was only barely loud enough.

What happened was, and I'm not 100% sure it was the firmware update, but several days after the install I used Bluetooth for the first time (since the FW install) and noticed that the volume was way lower than normal. I first discovered it using the FiiO BTR5. Even Maxing out the volume on the FiiO and Shanling, it was just barely listenable volume. Also tried with my Mpow BT transmitter with the Shanling and same thing. Checked both BT gadgets on my tablet and got normal volume.

Did some online research and some suggested when this happens to "Forget" each of your BT adapters in your source's settings and then re-pair. This fixed the issue for me with the Pro 21, so all is well again. Just a heads-up if anyone has this issue that, again, may be due to some other factor, but the only change I could think of in my case was the new FW.

@Shanling I'm still loving my M6 Pro 21 but my battery is rapidly declining. I flirt with the idea of M7 or M6 Ultra but my hardware is perfect and I'd like to keep it. Is the battery replaceable and is there somewhere I can acquire an new battery and replacement instructions?

It's replaceable, in the way it's replaceable on most smartphones (just bit easier, we do not pack it as tight as smartphone manufacturers).

For availability, check with Linsoul: https://www.linsoul.com/blogs/announcements/shanling-audio-repair-services-at-linsoul-audio

Instructions, if you know how to change battery on smartphone, it would be same on M6. Heat up the back plate and lift it up, battery is glued to it.

holsen--Yeah, I'm using and enjoying my Pro 21 too, it's a fantastic DAP. I was just wondering--I think you've had yours for around two years; I've had mine for about a year and a half. I haven't noticed any terrible decline in my battery but I'm not sure what to look for. Perhaps is seems to drain more rapidly than before. What are some of the things you have noticed that indicate rapid decline in your case? Lately I've been trying to start a recharge in the 20% area and charge till 80-90% but I don't catch it there every time. Bottom line is that this is definitely a DAP worth battery replacement!

@Shanling--quick question:

I was looking to buy a clear TPU case for my M6 Pro 21 and I was pretty sure, but I just wanted to confirm, that the size and button layout of the M6 Pro 21 is identical to the M6 21? Thanks!

EDIT: I can see that the body of the M6/M6 21 has a curve in the upper right where the M6 Pro/Pro21 does not, so they're not exactly the same shape. Looks like AliExpress has the Pro/Pro 21 case and it does have a squared upper right vs. the curved M6/M6 21 case.
