I have the same problem on 4.4mm output. I don’t know if it’s just the unit or a common problem.
Many people report this problem but I don't understand if it is a defect in the various units or is related to a faulty USB cable. I don't have this problem perhaps because I use an L&P WP2 as the cable for all my dongles but if anything, try replacing the cable to understand if it is a defect in the unit or a defect in the cable (which it could also be). Even a USB computer cable can be fine for testing.

I have the same problem as well. When connecting a low impedance (16ohm) high sensitivity (126dB) IEM to the 4.4mm output, no hissing or dut dut (pop sound) when the dac is connected to either via phone usb c source or PC usb source. But, when the music started, before any instrumental/vocal is heard (the silence part of the track), hissing will be present. Funny thing is, during the start of the track, dut dut sound is heard, then after the track ended, another dut dut sound. Tested with 3.5mm and no such issue. Not sure is faulty unit or poorly design internal circuit for the 4.4 out.

there is hissing in my unit when I use 4.4mm Balanced but on 3.5mm there is none
I tried to use it on my phone and there is no hissing but you need to nake the DAC in a steady position, any movement will cause the hissing to trigger

Can you try different USB cables?

Question, does UA4 support line out?

No dedicated line-out, but you can simply set it at higher volume level and use it as a source for external amplifiers?

I have the same problem on 4.4mm output. I don’t know if it’s just the unit or a common problem.

So you get hiss only when you move the device around?

I found an easy way to check if hissing is present. When playing a track with an IEM connecting to the 4.4mm output, either High or Low again, reduce the volume to 1. For my unit, I can clearly hear hissing.
Yes, that's standard behavior of UA4.
