Well it's time! The Caldera Closed and Aegis amplifier are about to (or already have been) be released at 8:30AM CST // 1:30PM UTC
Purchase Page: https://shop.zmfheadphones.com/collections/stock-headphones
Some basic info on Caldera Closed that might be good to know for the release:
1. Tuning kit will be available in the "included pads" drop down menu, this includes all four recommended pads and the two alternate frontal mesh choices for up to 12 configurations and even more if you go without any mesh on the front. Although I think most will prefer some sort of mesh on the front.
2. The review page is up: https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/zmfheadphones-caldera-closed.27214/
Some reviews will be coming from Headfonics, Headfonia, and TechPowerUp as well, not sure in what order.
3. The Impressions thread continues to have more content: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/zmf-caldera-closed.972056/
4. We will have a small amount of Ash Shou Sugi Ban sets ready to ship on launch day, and Ash will in general ship faster, the order to ship time for the first 50 units is listed at 4-8 weeks, I will update if we get past that.
5. Launch price will continue through sunday the 19th for both the stock and LTD editions.\
6. Measurements and product info page are up.
Don't forget to check the YouTube channel for a lot of new content with more to come on Caldera Closed and Aegis: https://www.youtube.com/c/ZMFheadphones

Great to see the 'science' behind what I hear. Also, really cool videos lately!

Hello,
what are the differences in the wood between the Caldera closed versions?
The Shedua looks great, I couldn't decide between that and Ash now as they both look great.
I would be interested to know how they differ in sound.

go with the more aesthetically pleasing wood, don't worry about sound as much. the sonic differences aren't huge between woods, you'll get more noticeable differences pad rolling and tweaking your dac/amp, especially if the amp is the tube varietyHello,

EDIT - In general the softer less dense woods have a slower decay and more resonance. They tend to be a bit more euphonic and analog sounding. The harder woods have faster transients and are a bit cleaner sounding overall. Again, the actual differences are subtle, so go with the wood you love looking at most, IMO.

Hi,
Weight for the amp?
In the video they said it's around 60lbs, on headfi I think I read somewhere it would be 55lbs, so around there I guess.

I don't know if I am young enough to lift and carry that beast around anymore...
Killing me with mc275 and PL Dialogue HP Integrated amp upstair.
Thinking and debating right now....
Does the Aegis drives Susvara better than EF1000?
Nobody has both and has done a direct A/B. It's not about driving it, it's more about the presentation and the balance of bass texture, slam and bass spatial cues and scale (all these three are also called grip/control) that separates an average Susvara amp to a God tier one. However, the Aegis should give you that delicious triode strapped pentode sound signature to the Sus
