HEDD Announces HEDDphone With AMT Technology
If you were at the World of Headphones Heidelberg show, then it was probably me. I want to agree, but I also have to stay open-minded. There are different ways of sounding neutral. You can have neutral-measuring speakers, but you will never listen to them in a neutral space. So even if you use...- HuoYuanJia

Aful Performer Impressions Thread
Here they are side by side. Performer 5 is more relaxed and warmer sounding, Quintet has more bite and attack. In the bass, Quintet has more slam and impact. I really like the midrange, it sounds rich and warm yet gives some extra energy to female voices. P5 sounds veiled in comparison...- HuoYuanJia

AirPods Max
Day 1 user here. Definitely no (notable) change in sound, except for the option to change it in the accessibility options. I think the option came only after release. As @MayaTlab pointed out, getting consistent measurements can be tricky. Even more so when pads are worn.- HuoYuanJia

RME ADI-2 Pro - DAC, Headamp, an a lot of more stunning features
I have both RMEs, but use them in different rooms. However, ever since the first ADI-2 Pro was released, I‘ve been using the series and didn‘t skip a single entry. So I will try to answer your first questions. 1) Yes, the head-amp in the 2/4 Pro is better than in the ADI-2 DAC FS. It has so...- HuoYuanJia

Aful Performer Impressions Thread
Ok, so the Performer 5 arrived and I already have some thoughts. I love the shell. It's small and fits comfortably flush in my ear. Definitely an IEM you can take to bed. I have no opinion on the faceplate. Not my style, no idea what it's supposed to represent. If this IEM were more expensive...- HuoYuanJia

Aful Performer Impressions Thread
My god, Gizaudio is hyping the Aful Performer 5 too much… I just had to order one. I love neutral IEMs, the Softears RS10 almost killed the hobby for me. To this day, it‘s the best* I‘ve heard. (*Best as in technically most transparent and accurate, e.g. comparable to near-field studio...- HuoYuanJia

So v1.1 didn‘t improve on any of my complaints. The only thing I noticed is that album art loads a bit faster (but still won‘t load for 50% at all). Instead, I tried to feed a Ferrum ERCO via USB-OTG and it was a catastrophe. The Hiby froze up, didn‘t respond, played wrong titles, etc...- HuoYuanJia

German user here. I pre-ordered on Sep. 9th. The order was shipped on 19th and arrived 11 days later (30th). I paid 159 € and so far I wasn‘t charged for import tax. I would estimate these to be around 35 € from experience, but sometimes the invoice doesn‘t come, so here‘s hoping. Either way...- HuoYuanJia

Hello, fellow Head-Fi‘ers. In a spontaneous decision, I placed an order yesterday. I haven‘t used a DAP in ages. I have a Mojo (2) + Poly, as well as Hugo 2 + 2Go setup, but usually just feed directly off of my iPhone via CCC. (Can‘t wait to finally get USB-C on the iPhone end of this month!)...- HuoYuanJia

Softears RS10 vs 64 Audio u18t
Oh, and I also have the Hugo 2. If you‘re thinking about to use that one as a source, the 64 Audio picks up some background hiss. The RS10 does not.- HuoYuanJia

Softears RS10 vs 64 Audio u18t
Hi, I think I might be able to help you. Considering you are used to your ADAM and I work for HEDD (same founder), I will assume our understanding of transparent sound will match quite nicely. I also have RS10 and A18t both as CIEM. The Softears RS10 is much much closer to the sound of...- HuoYuanJia

Aure Custom Inears Impressions Thread
Hi all, I was wondering if any of you have had experience with Aure yet. They're a Taiwanese boutique CIEM manufacturer. I think they started off with reshells and refits. They now also have a few designs of their own. Website: none Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/aurecustominears/...- HuoYuanJia

Review by 'HuoYuanJia' on item 'KBEAR Neon'
The KB Ear Neon is a single-BA budget IEM designed for audiophiles. Though the company’s official name is KBEAR, I pronounce it as “K.B. Ear” in my head and I think that’s how it’s supposed to be spelled out. This review is a slight step outside my comfort zone. KB Ear is not a new company at...- HuoYuanJia
