Headphones with great clarity (Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser...)
I tried Anaxilus mod with my HD700. I made it using 2mm thick felt as this is how Mod House makes it I believe. I don't really like how it sounds with the mod. I feel there is more sub-bass and overall sound is a little muffled. I prefer the sound without the mod, it is way more energetic and...- tspmk

OK, so I bought HD700. They are crisp clear, resolution is extraordinary and there's no fatigue! Also super comfy. Love 'em! And I didn't even touch EQ yet :)- tspmk

I strongly believe it was from 10khz and above region. I don't have 'em anymore so I can't try EQ this region. EQing it in DT1990 helps quite a bit.- tspmk

@Davidzak64 I can see you've got AKG K702. I borrowed these from my brother the other night and they also gave me ear fatigue. How do you like them? I think that in terms of airiness they are quite similar to DT1990, just a little thinner in the bass region.- tspmk

Just 2 cents from me. I asked other users of this amp about their experience with listening to headphones on it and no one complained. On the contrary - many claimed it's even better than HP amps they tried.- tspmk

Actually I asked Lyngdorf directly and they replied that the headphone output stage can drive headphones with an impedance of 16-600 ohm without problems. I will try to audition the beyers at a store on a solid state HP amp but I don't expect it to perform much better.- tspmk

I have implemented a different approach - messed up HD600 :D I took Oratory1990 preset and changed filter 10 to have +1db instead off -4db and boom! Sennheiser veil is off here comes clarity! ...and ear fatigue as well... at least now I know what is causing this.- tspmk

Headphones with great clarity (Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser...)
I only have a digital integrated amp I'm listening from. I tried listening to it from my laptop - the sound was slightly muddier but ear fatigue remained.- tspmk

Headphones with great clarity (Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser...)
I'm just starting my adventure with headphones, however, I already have a sound signature I'm looking for. I love great transparency, clarity, separation etc. and also good bass. I have auditioned several Sennheiser models (HD560S, HD600, HD650, HD660S), Beyerdynamic (DT 880, DT 900 PRO X, DT...- tspmk

Equalizing AKG K 480 NC headphones
Hi, Does any of you have AKG K 480 NC headphones and tried to equalize them? For me they sound muddy and I like to have less bass but better overall clarity. That is why I never really used them, instead kept them in a drawer... Now I thought I will experiment with EQ and see how it works out...- tspmk
