Want to test Yuin PK2, should I get DIY version ?
May I ask, why you are so sure that they'll sound different. Is it because of the cabling (then I don't care) ? Or is it because that the drivers are different or that the drivers are housed in a different "shell" (then I would care) ?- extrabigmehdi

Want to test Yuin PK2, should I get DIY version ?
Hi I can find at aliexpress either the original YUIN PK2 (well, that's what the seller claim) at 40$, or a DIY version with a much nicer cable at 20$ (nice torsaded flexible cable). The cost of delivery is included. I hesitate because lot of people complain than the build quality of YUIN PK2...- extrabigmehdi

A solution for running (player + headphone) < 200$
Thanks for the suggestion, I decided to go for the more expensive ma750 version instead. I've seen contradictory review about it, some say they are good for gym, other not. But I was convinced by a review at youtube. Also there's not much comparison with the ma650. I found this video...- extrabigmehdi

A solution for running (player + headphone) < 200$
Hi , My old earbuds for sport died because of broken cables (ksc 75 & pmx 680). That's why I thought it might be a good idea to switch to something wireless . But my old sansa player doesn't support Bluetooth (also it's probably outdated) , and I don't want to run with a smartphone.(Mine is...- extrabigmehdi

Shure SRH-940 Crack and their service!
The srh1540 sounds closer to the srh940, if you use the srh940 pads. But then you have less comfort.- extrabigmehdi

Review by 'extrabigmehdi' on item 'Shure SRH1540 Headphones'
I was relatively happy with the sound of my srh940. However, the band of my srh940 started to crack seriously, and with all the scotch and glue to maintain the band, it was just an ugly mess. So the srh1540 with a superior design, was a natural choice to replace my srh940. Physical...- extrabigmehdi

Below 500$, upgrading the srh940 (closed headphoone)
All right , I already commanded my srh1540. Enough hesitations. I guess there's not so much good closed headphones, at this price. I hope they sound as awesome as they look. The shure blogs says they are not an upgrade in sound quality (they are actually less accurate) , but if they are...- extrabigmehdi

headphones for home use/working out
I just thought of the hd25-1. They are very sturdy, but I'm not sure how well they'll resist to sweat. Also, there's the cable, don't know if it would resist to gym moves. They are great for "mainstream music", the stuff you listen on radio.- extrabigmehdi

headphones for home use/working out
I'd take for gym either a koss ksc75. or a senn pmx680. But you are lucky, senn has discontinued the pmx680, and the new model is much more expensive. So if you want absolutely to spend 100$: http://en-us.sennheiser.com/sport-earphones-neckband-running-jogging-workouts-pmx-686g For home...- extrabigmehdi

audio checker showing .m4a AAC lossy as lossless when converted to flac?? Can anybody please explain this anomaly
Your "audio checker" is probably using aucdtect. This analyzer is mostly used to detect mp3 compression. If a file is detected as lossless, it's still not a warranty that it's lossless. If a file is detected as lossy, it doesn't mean it's necessarily lossy too. If a track is low passed by...- extrabigmehdi

Below 500$, upgrading the srh940 (closed headphoone)
hi, the headband of my srh940 has cracked, and I'm looking for something better in built quality , and that keeps some "aspect" of the srh940 sounds. What I really liked on the srh940, is a bit some "aggresivity" on the sound, which seems perfect for some fast-paced psytrance (or...- extrabigmehdi

Yamaha EPH-100
I opened the eph-100 many times, to get rid the ear wax that goes inside. This helps with the muted sound issue. Unfortunately I lost one of the small internal mesh. So when I remove the internal mesh, I have a much more trebly sound. I tried to to replace that internal mesh with some kind...- extrabigmehdi

This has been more than 15 days that I paid for a "Copper Series HPC Mk2" , and still not even a tracking number for the delivery of the article. I'm not sure this is normal. Last week I contacted them, and they said that by the end of week I'll get that tracking number, and still nothing. -

Weird .... It's as if you listened to another headphone. Aggression is what I liked on these headphones. These were the most aggressive I got before they broke. ( I also have hd25, hd595, hd800, xb500) Relaxed ? No way, I found they were fatiguing, when I tried them at first. Perhaps you are...- extrabigmehdi

Best classical recordings...ever!
Here's the winner from a french show. It was a kind of competition between very young people (between 7 & 16 year old), and there were performing classical stuff (opera, ballet etc). I find it a bit depressive, it's as much unoriginal as it can be (Summer from Vivaldi):- extrabigmehdi

Best classical recordings...ever!
I think Gould's Mozart is better for the so called "Mozart Effect". If it's not true, I've decided it anyways. By the way I'm getting a copy of concerto 23 & Sonata for Two Pianos in D Major K. 448 after reading the wiki page.- extrabigmehdi

Best classical recordings...ever!
From what I understood Gould didn't hate in particular Mozart , but disliked the whole Classical Period. He chose to bash Mozart, because this composer was one of the most influential of that period. It's funny that his favorite composer is Orlando Gibbons, a quite obscure artist today, that is...- extrabigmehdi
