Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 Discussion Thread
MSR7 has a slightly bright tonality, but it's treble is not harsh. I have more trouble with sibilance with HD800/K702/D2000 then with MSR7.- peanuthead

I love HD650...probably more than HD800. MSR7 is just really good. ??? In any case, the gap between my favorite headphones is pretty small top to bottom...- peanuthead

Thanks! I've been mainly using HeadAmp GS-1 and Schiit Modi 2U combo with FSP. I've also used iPhone 6Plus, and although probably not as dynamic as the GS-1/Modi combo, still quite competent and enjoyable. I haven't done critical comparison between the two, but off the top of my...- peanuthead

FSP and ATH MSR7 are my my choices for "desert island headphones." Versatile, neutral, and just great sounding! Although I'd rather be able to keep my listening corner, lol.- peanuthead

The stock pads are pretty good, no complaints. Initial clamping pressure was a little high but it's totally comfortable now after a few days of use. Man, I still can't believe how good these phones sound...so glad I gave it a try.- peanuthead

Recently joined the Focal Professional club. I must say, these headphones are really good. Neutral, good dynamics and presence, transparent and non-fatiguing. Thankfully these are decently comfortable on my head (I have average sized head and ears) that I can wear them for hours.- peanuthead

New HD800 user! Just a few questions.
Immerser yourself in music with HD800 for the next 2-3 weeks (before the return period is over?) and get back to us. If you still don't like it at that time, go ahead and return it - HD800 is not everyone's cup of tea...- peanuthead

Sennheiser HD800 Certificate for Frequency Response Arrived
Me and a buddy recently compared 2 HD800's, one with a frequency chart showing a huge bump at 6,000Hz (his) and the other one showing a relatively flat bump at 6,000Hz (mine) and put them through a sibilance torture test. Result: we could not discern any difference between the two.- peanuthead

How and why do members fall in love with second tier headphones?
Falling in love with second tier phones does not necessarily mean one has to discount the performance of higher tier models... Why not love both? Although I must admit I like the HD650 better than some of the "superior" headphones I've tried/owned...- peanuthead
