Headphones - WORN!!! - new thread - no nudity

That's no French teacher, she is a colleague, a DJ. Popularly known as Miss Nine who is also the face of Levis. We call her Kristin in person.   And, I'm not using just a "girl" as avatar. She is my wife, and she's from Tokyo and she doesn't wear those type of clothing. You must be referring...

Sennheiser HD-555 and PX100 are open-type headphones which I will not even consider using as a utility headphone for DJing and monitoring. Both headphones leak tunes and has no isolation. HD-25s are designed for professional use than for everyday listening pleasures.

I find the Amperior more sided to casual/audiophile listening than utility. If you are a DJ, producer, or a sound engineer, you really don't need those fancy ipod controls and short-cable. I think Sennheiser designed the Amperior with general users in mind, while HD 25-1 II is proper monitoring...

The HD 25 series has been around for 15 years and this has been my 2nd purchase of the famed dual-band headphone.     Value: 10 years ago, if you are purchasing a $200 headphone it would've sounded absurd. Thanks to Beats by Dre, $200 headphones are now a steal. For $200, you get 2...

The Portable BASS kings..The Pioneer HDJ500 vs AKG 518 LE vs The first look at the new AT WS55 Solid Bass

Quote: HD25s pads will fit on the WS55s both have the same 70mm diameter. Unfortunately, the opening in the HD25s are smaller, so they might muffle the sound a bit.

    ATH-M50 vs ATH-M50S LE impressions

Funny because someone up there is also claiming the sound between the M50s/LE and M50s (regular) are different; claiming the LEs are better and the scientific reason behind it was the "magical" paint that improves sound quality (amazing rational thinking). The next thing, I want to hear is that...

    What Headphones should I get??

Quote: 7.1 headsets are gimmicky. If you want good value for your money get a studio headphone ATH-M50, SRH840, TBSE1, PRODJ200, maybe the Sennheisers HD 25 SPII. For easy listening go for the CAL or Downtowns.

    ATH-M50 vs ATH-M50S LE impressions

Quote: There's no detachable cables for the ATH-M50s/LE unless they were modified. It only comes with a straight cable. It must be the PRO700MK2s, it's the only AT product that comes with 2 detachable cables, a straight 1.2m cable and a coiled 3m cable.

    What Headphones should I get??

Get the Audio Technica M50 it will destroy the HD202, if you want a smaller portable headphone then get the Creative Aurvana Live or the Philips Citiscape Downtowns

    ATH-M50 vs ATH-M50S LE impressions

Yes, it will chip. The hinge inner plastic is dark grey while the the ear cups is lighter grey. It is the same paint used on silver laptops, and in time they fade. Open the ear cups, you'll see. When the chipping starts you can use the Sharpie Pearl paint marker oil-based pen to cover...

For DJ monitoring purposes the PRO700MK2s are better. They sound darker, better for high volumes, it won't fatigue your ears... bass is definitely strong. But with regards to casual listening, HDJ-2000s are better.

the philips shl5500: natural sounding can.

Yes, I do. The CitiScape Downtowns is obviously superior in sound quality and build than the previous SHL5500. The bass is much fuller, vocals are warmer, and the highs are more detailed; however at $100 price point, Creative Aurvana Live beats the Downtowns by a hair. Sound signature is similar...

I actually don't consider this as a headphone at all, even for an open-headphone itself. It's more like a portable speaker-box tied to a headband. Maybe AKG should rebrand this as "headspeakers" instead.

I think the PRODJ200 and the TBSE1 has no difference at all, just the signature and downloads from TBSE1 and the ipod controls from PRODJ200. Overall, I think TBSE1 has more value than the PRODJ200; however, I like the appearance of the PRODJ200 more since it is more simple and discrete. To sell...

I have no issues with the bass, since I'm viewing them more of a "Pro" headphones than a consumer-centric one. While they are very good for monitoring house and electronica, they don't fit hiphop music. But, I don't use hiphop music in my sets so not a problem. Right now, I'm playing Bob Marley...

The Sony V600 is a better comparison to it, they have some very striking similarities. The same old-school mid-forward sound. great midrange bass, dry trebles. Although, I incline more into the bassy headphone category, with some short air-time I tend to like them alot.

    ATH-M50 vs ATH-M50S LE impressions

Quote: Please write to Audio-Technica and they will tell you the exact same thing. The two products are exact same mirror of each other, the main difference is the silver paint. Unless it is some magical paint from Harry Potter land. I would rather believe the Project head of AT, than...

NOTE: To give justice on headphones, you should always compare them with products are in the same price range and target audience, not with audiophile-grade headphones like the HD800s.   It is very hard to review these headphones as they are in the middle of the pack. It is a step toward the...
