Introduction to TY Hi-Z Earbud Family: Mega Review
They appeared alongside the HE 150PRO. Both use the same housing but the TY HI-Z is 300Ohm. Judging from specs the Ty seem to be more efficient regardless.- zareliman

Introduction to TY Hi-Z Earbud Family: Mega Review
So the HP150 has the same harsh highs than the HP32 ? Well they can be damped with the thick foam to an extent.- zareliman

Introduction to TY Hi-Z Earbud Family: Mega Review
I read everything but I could not what I was looking for. He compares to the other DIY earbuds HE-150 and some physical aspects but no mention of frequencies or how do they scale (or not) as they get more impedance. So far from what I read I'd say they all have pretty much the same FR with minor...- zareliman

Introduction to TY Hi-Z Earbud Family: Mega Review
I'm glad I found this thread. I decided to try the HP-32 since a guy said they had more sub-bass than the VE Monks, and it was true. However the HP-32 besides having more sub-bass is less warm overall with sharper highs and more air. I'm wondering about the higher impedance ones, do they change...- zareliman

Yenona Adapter-Free DJ Headphones
I didn't try that particular bluetooth dongle but tried 2 different ones of the same style and the sound has a very noticeable bass rolloff. I think they're designed with a high output impedance (I read something like 16 Ohm) for line in connection so they don't match well with low impedance...- zareliman

Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread
I don't recommend the ZS3, it sounds "confused" to my ears. The bass bleeds into the low mids and there's some chops in the FR. The ZST is clearly a bright IEM and I know no alternative on the price range, whereas the ZS3 is bassy and there's better alternatives on the cheap like hybrid pistons...- zareliman

Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread
I've been enjoying the KZ ZST a lot lately but I can detect some ringing/harshness in the 3k-8k range. Since the ED12 is like the same without the BA I was wondering if it removed some of the ringing, has anyone tried both of them ? The ZS3 was not good for me, something about the shape makes me...- zareliman

How do we actually know what a flat frequency response even is ?
I've had this conundrum in my mind for a long time. It's kind of the problem of "What was first, the egg or the chicken" (In that case the egg was first since that egg was given birth by a close relative of chickens at some point). We all know microphones don't read frequencies in a flat...- zareliman

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution
I think the Ultrasone S-Logic depends more on the relative location of the driver outside the ear. The idea of S-Logic is to place the driver on the back of the ear so it takes into account that you'll place the headphones in such position that the sound will be coming indirectly to the ear...- zareliman

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution
I had this exact same reaction when listened to the Ultrasone Edition 8 headphone demo from Sonic Sense Pro Audio. https://soundcloud.com/sonic-sense-pro-audio/ultrasone-edition-8?in=sonic-sense-pro-audio/sets/headphones-test Those headphones have some kind of siblance, resonance harshness...- zareliman

Superlux Express Train
The Hifiman velour pads work amazing for me. They're a little stiff but since the clamp is not too tight, they sit comfortably on your head. The good thing about this pads is that they allow for the driver to sit at a proper distance and don't produce this "tube bass port" effect you get with...- zareliman

Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (On or Over Ear Headphones)
That proprietary cable connector looks exactly like the Audio Technica M40x / M50x type. It could also be the Shure SRH or the Phillips Fidelio one. You can simply go to a mall or wherever they sell music studio equipment and try an exhibition unit, request the vendor to show you the...- zareliman

Yenona Adapter-Free DJ Headphones
Got that exact same model. The one with white stitching seems to be the oldest and the photos only remain as an oddity at this point. How much do you pay for the pads only ? I wouldn't mind trying the ones with the red stitching as well, I'm a pad enthusiast if that's a thing.- zareliman

Yenona Adapter-Free DJ Headphones
I've got some news. Received my Yenonas today, of course I'm drooling all over those pads. The package is very minimal and no-nonsense, small box, cable/microphone and carrying bag. I can't give the best appreciation about the sound yet but so far I had a great time listening to the Redout...- zareliman

What causes ear fatigue?
I've noticed spikes in the frequency response are not as fatiguing as resonances/ringing. Some headphones/drivers have fundamental resonances and they keep moving after a certain frequency, you can see this in the decay graphs. Many headphones resonate in the subs area but there's also many that...- zareliman

Review by 'zareliman' on item 'Superlux HD-330'
First you unbox the thing and you find a plastic "case" (if anything is just like another box really) and the headphones are inside with a WARNING SIGN ! The warning just states High SPL for some reason and the specs are inside. Not sure why should I be so worried, the sensitivity is nothing...- zareliman

HD 25-1-ii vs. HD 25 Light?
Judging from the specs they did something to the cups. The loudness is lower and the frequency range got chopped, it could be as simple as foam on top of the drivers though.- zareliman

Did you get your Yenonas ? How do they compare to the Takstar 5500 ? I'm very fond of Takstar, wouldn't mind adding another to the lineup, but the Yenona's I can get for less money which is always a plus. I'll be getting a BT 4.0 transmitter as well probably. LoL the cable is...- zareliman
