Looking to upgrade, Sundara/Ananda?
Thanks, that's great information, and also slightly disappointing haha. I was hoping something like the HD600 or AKG712 would be a noticeable upgrade. I do really want to hear what everyone is talking about in regards to the HD600 vocals, but otherwise the Ananda seems like the clear winner in...- G3ck0

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
I assume these are still being made? There is barely any stock in Australia, only a couple of stores that I can see.- G3ck0

Looking to upgrade, Sundara/Ananda?
I didn't consider this, but apparently Amazon has it for $300 cheaper than any local store, which all of a sudden makes it extremely tempting. So it's good for acoustic, vocals and a bit of other genres like classic rock etc? How would it compare to the Sundara?- G3ck0

Focal Clear headphones
What is the most you would pay for the Clear over the Elex? There's a couple of Elex available in Australia for 800AUD, cheapest Clear is currently $1500, though apparently they hit $1100 on sale occasionally. And then is an Elex a good option compared to an Ananda, which costs $200 more?- G3ck0

Looking to upgrade, Sundara/Ananda?
This is tempting, but now I'm having a hard problem comparing it the the HD600/650. So many conflicting opinions! The R70X is at least a decent bit cheaper in Australia, which is nice. EDIT: One thing I should probably point out that I like about my ATH-AD700/900x is the sound stage. I do like...- G3ck0

Hifiman Ananda
Couple of questions… 1) How much can an eq match what ifi’s amps do in regards to bass? 2) is there any way to tell how comfortable I will find these headphones without actually trying them on? Measuring my head or something?- G3ck0

Looking to upgrade, Sundara/Ananda?
I currently have a pair of Audio Technica ATH-AD900x. I love them. The sound stage, the more neutral sound, the 'accurate' bass I guess? It seems like the Hifiman headphones will give me something similar, just a lot better? At this point I'm willing to spend about 1000AUD, maybe up to 1300...- G3ck0

Will an amp actually improve my sound?
Currently using ATH-AD900x's with a Fiio e10k... would buying a Schiit stack actually have any noticeable improvement? I'm confused as to whether the Amp/DAC is useful for headphones like mine, or only for headphones that require more.- G3ck0

Audio Technica ATH-AD900x Impressions Thread
I really like them now, stayed up till 6am just listening to music. I think it was just jarring hearing music that was far closer to the recording than I've ever heard before, the bass is so accurate, everything is so clean and sounds so true to life it's amazing.- G3ck0

*Official Schiit Magni/Modi 2 ( Uber ) Thread*
ATH-AD700's and CD's ripped as ALAC mainly. Someone on Reddit said they liked the e10k, until they got a Macbook Pro the same as mine and sold it as the difference was negligible.- G3ck0

Recently bought ATH-AD900x's and a Fiio e10k. Absolutely amazing... the headphones that is. The Fiio e10k barely seems to do anything, maybe minor but it's not a big difference. I'm running it on a high-end Retina Macbook Pro though, so it probably already has a decent DAC and amp. So, my...- G3ck0

Audio Technica ATH-AD900x Impressions Thread
CD ripped as ALAC. Using a Fiio e10k. After only using my 900x's for a few hours, they started to sound great. The clarity is awesome. But today I went back and used my 700's and they still sound better. Warmer with far more bass. Did the rubber band mod to my 900x's and that didn't improve...- G3ck0

Audio Technica ATH-AD900x Impressions Thread
Just got these headphones, upgrading from my ATH-AD700's, and they sound... bad. There is absolutely no bass, I'm not a basshead or anything, but there's far less than my 700's. This isn't normal, right? Is something going on here?- G3ck0

The FiiO E10K--all-new DAC and amp stages
Okay, thanks. I can't hear a huge difference using the Fiio though, maybe subtle but it's hard to tell. I only have ATH-AD700's, could that be it? I'm getting a pair of ATH-AD900x's tomorrow.- G3ck0

Good Headphone Setup for $1000+ / HD800 Questions
At the moment I have Audio Technica ATH-AD700's. Love them, but I'm the kind of person who isn't happy until I have the best. While I would love a pair of Sennheiser HD800's, I have a few questions. How would they sound compared to my current headphones without an amp? Would they at least...- G3ck0

Absolutely Clueless - Want Advice!
Quote: I'm definitely open to upgrading my headphones one day though. I kind of needed headphones for my gaming PC I just built, and only had around $200, so these were the best in my price range (around $130 or something in Australia). I absolutely love sound, so I'll most likely...- G3ck0

Absolutely Clueless - Want Advice!
I bought a pair of Audio Technica ATH-AD700's a few months ago and absolutely love them. The sound is better than any headphones I have listened to in my life. But now I am reading about amps, and that they improve the sound? Is it worth buying an amp for these headphones? Will the improvement...- G3ck0
