In the UK the D7100 are the same price as the Alpha Dog or AKG K712. My options are buy the D7100 and use my D600 for portable use or buy the M100 again for portability(instead of the D7100) If the D600 and D7100 are too similar then I may reconsider.

Me personally having demoed so many I'd say the Mad Dogs, they seem to have a gap between most Midfi phones like the Momentum, HP100 and others on that level.

I'm stuck between these two, I owned the M100 before but thinking of rebuying. I want big Bass, lively and musical with good build quality. Sound has to have clarity but the bass needs to be massive lol

I had 3 pairs of M100 from the same seller a while back and all 3 sounded muffled and not very musical. After reading a lot of opinions it seems that more people have a different opinion so I'm guess I'm asking how are they supposed to sound? Thinking of re buying from a reputatable dealer.

Bloody hell, Never had such strong first impressions before. These things have a true soundstage, Not like the K702 which is echoed and lacking depth, These are amazing. Right away I prefer these to the K701/2 HD650 and other mid tier open backs. These reminds me of my closed Mad dogs but...

 Even at the £300 price point these compete very well. I'd pick these over the Sony MDR 1R and some others. These are amazing value!

These are very underated phones!! These sound better than a lot of my headphones I own! Why are these never recommended? Phones like v moda don't compare to these, these are quite neutral but still sound fun. what's your opinions?

Gave these a go in HMV and I was surprised! these sound good! To my ears these sounded better than(To name a few)   V moda m100 M50 Aurvana live All beats     Not quite as good as the momentum but better than the on ear momentum.

From lurking on forums, I have always seen soundstage as a feature in recommendations. I believe it is very unfair, A recent comment that stood out was "The k701 soundstage is huge" I own the K702 and many other headphones and the sense of soundstage is maybe  2-3cm more than say my mrspeakers...

Have heard the momentum but never the d600. I'm after something that is musical with good bass but can also sound relaxed and good with other music such as classical. I really like the D600 and hope it sounds good with all music!?
