I wil check them although since my listening is mostly done on the desktop I think i'll buy a DAC first so I can enjoy better sound on the AKG 240. Still deciding which DAC to buy, in Portugal is hard to find the good ones at a good price (even when sending from abroad).

Hi-jacking the thread... What do you think aboust SMSL M3? I have also the K240 Mk2 connected to my Creative T40 which are connected to the motherboard (a new asus one). Do you find M3 a good DAC to improve this "sound circuit"?

So... My K240 Studio just arrived. I love their sound and they're really comfortable and light. Only one thing: they get a little hot. :s

I guess I'll go with the K240 Studio. On my search, the normal onboard have < 60 ohm where the K612 need 120 ohm so they'll run at half the power.

How much is "soon"? :P Already made a thomann basket to get the shipment for free with the K240 studio. Though, I would like to know how the K612 drives without the amp on the onboard.

Yep onboard macbook pro. Besides that I'll use them with my firewire 410. So you don't recommend K612 without an amp?

But do you find that 601s need an amp compared with 240s without?

Eventually for better listening I could go through an amp (in the future) on my "production table" but the idea is to work out of my mac output also so I can quickly connect my bass or guitar and listen or even for mastering everywhere. I am kind of tending to the AKG models and in the AKG...
