Dan Clark Audio Stealth Review, Interview, Measurements
Thank you for this information, but in the context of ear pads, "taped" is not clear enough for me. Could you please clarify it, esp. re. the following questions ?: - Are the pads directly (immediately) detachable? If not, how much effort and time would it take to remove the existing ones and...- bidn

Dan Clark Audio Stealth Review, Interview, Measurements
What? Really, I can't believe it! Then it is a real pity, to succeed at delivering a FR sticking so well to the latest iteration of the Harman target, and yet to fail with such basic practical design issues! Hopefully they will come up with a revision providing detachable and genuine leather...- bidn

Dan Clark Audio Stealth Review, Interview, Measurements
In my experience they don't last longer than 6 months of regular use. I can understand the use of fake, vegan leather ear pads on bluetooth headphones (re. contraints to keep the price under a few hundreds dollars, so to save every single dollar), but absolutely not on premium, so expensive...- bidn

Poll: Your Favorite Amp with the Utopia?
Hi Stereo Skunk, being one of the HPA4 owners, and having ordered the Utopia directly from France shortly after they were released (luckily because it took a lot of time after their release for them to be distributed where I live), I have owned the Utopia since about their release, I can share...- bidn

Audeze Euclid Closed-Back Planar IEM
It looks to me that Audeze has done a lot of things right with this Euclid IEM: - unlike the LCD i4 and i3, it is closed = what is normally sought after for IEMs - the frequency response curve seems much closer to what is expected for high fidelity, as shown by Crinacle, compared to the LCD i4...- bidn

Focal Utopia General Discussion
By the definition of high-fidelity, the prime and most essential requirement of high-fidelity is a neutral representation of the audio signals. (And the name of the present site is a word play with headphone and high-fidelity). Let's look at measurements : The grey line represents...- bidn

HIFIMAN Arya - Arya Stealth - Arya Organic :: Impressions Thread
Hi there, catching up from my summer break, I saw a discussion at the beginning of Aug. re. the drivers of the Arya vs those of the HE1000 v1 and v2. RME ADI-2 DAC Thread
Hi, the latest revision of the RME ADI 2 FS, with the AK4493 replacing the AK4490 (BTW I understood AKM stopped producing the AK4490, so once RME's stock would run out, they would have to use the superceeding chip): a few dB SQ improvements for the DAC, but the SQ of the amp part measured a...- bidn

HIFIMAN Arya - Arya Stealth - Arya Organic :: Impressions Thread
Re. the Arya, it fits very well that you don't listen to vocal classical (like usually Hifiman headphones, it has some recession between 1 and 2 kHz, making e.g. high, female voices sometimes less realist), this shouldn't be much of an issue for you. You are welcome. I think that there is...- bidn

HIFIMAN Arya - Arya Stealth - Arya Organic :: Impressions Thread
Hi PoSR77, Re. your question about power for the Arya, people listen at different volume levels (louder or lower), and different kinds of music are louder (metal) or quieter (polyphony), so without knowing how hard you listen to and to what kind of music, in my opinion nobody can give you an...- bidn

RME ADI-2 DAC Thread
Hi Slaphead, I agree with your general ideas, and find it very right that you stress that the RME products belong to the pro audio world, unlike many products on this site. "High-Fidelity", as the name says, means realism, neutrality. So, by this definition, products like RME ADI-2 DAC are...- bidn

New TOL A&K DAP : the AK Ultima SP1000
Hi NewEve, My SP1000M produces a very high fidelity, neutral sound. If you are not looking for high fidelity but for an "artificially" thickened sound (with added harmonic repetitions of the many signals, i.e. what is called "harmonic distortion" in electronics), then you might be more...- bidn

CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE
Thank you audio_1, however all these tracks related to the issue have the same sampling rate = 44,1 kHz. They do differ though by having a different (lossless compression) bitrate. Also I didn't use to have this issue with the Dave alone, but only with the combination HMS -> Dave.- bidn
