    Aune M1s Impressions & Discussion Thread (Aune's newest hi-res DAP with ESS9018KM + 2.5mm Balanced Out)

Just to add guys, M1s is very transparent. Compared to the mojo, it is very revealing. Mojo for me is very dynamic with the low end emphasised. Compared with the new DAPs, it still holds its own. It was designed for one thing - to precisely reproduce. No EQ, no coloration whatsoever. It's more...

    Tin Hifi P1 impressions

I got the E1DA powerdac v2 since august. It is only now that I was able to use it with the P1. One word - amazing. Sounds even better than the he400i with the harman preset. Bass is solid. The mojo does not give the P1 justice. It sounds good but the PDV2 + P1 is simply superb.

Still amazing. I use it to audition iems as it is the closest thing to neutral that I have.

"Ear Kegs" - MusicMaker Phantom III / Shockwave III appreciation & impressions

P1 and sw3 are just different. P1 is revealing while sw3 is musical. I like both and will keep them as it serves different purposes. The p1 also have outstanding bass. And the instrument separation is just outstanding. if i have to choose, i'll still choose the sw3. It fits my listening tastes...

    Tin Hifi P1 impressions

Hi Charlie, Yeah, it's a lot better with the mojo. Maybe because of the added power? It's more musical i think. It's sterile with the fiio. I'm using the stock module btw, am3a amp. Tomorrow i'll hook it up to the desktop amp and see if its better.

    Tin Hifi P1 impressions

I used the P1 with the X7 Mk II balanced. It powers if well. As opposed to the he400i, X7 Mk. II simply does not have the juice to make it sing. I think the A3 can handle the P1. The mojo did not even flinch while powering the P1.

    Tin Hifi P1 impressions

The e1da powerdac v2 will be arriving this week. I'll keep you guys posted. But it's mainly for full size hp. It's sufficient for the p1 and the accompanying software has p1 eq presets and an amazing peq. Maybe try the topping amps. Or the a3 by fiio. I had recently the a3 and its plenty powerful.

    Tin Hifi P1 impressions

Got this little bugger this morning, using it out of the mojo. It's quite good. I don't think bass is bad. I was actually pleasantly surprised. the key is a good seal. I used the accompanying foam. it's a keeper. Ymmv.

"Ear Kegs" - MusicMaker Phantom III / Shockwave III appreciation & impressions

Yes it does take some time. I first noticed the 3d effect while testing it with Money for Nothing and Roundabout (Steve Wilson Remix). Try to listen to it also with the live version of Paul Gilbert's Roundabout and Atmosphere on the Moon off his solo album Vibrato. Hope this helps.

"Ear Kegs" - MusicMaker Phantom III / Shockwave III appreciation & impressions

Hi Larry, Just a few tips to get the most out of these bass canons. 1. Use foam tips and make sure that the seal is tight. 2. Jon Parker is correct, it is source dependent. I use it with the X7 Mk. II for the sparkle and I use the mojo for the deep sub-bass. 3. It becomes better on balanced...

"Ear Kegs" - MusicMaker Phantom III / Shockwave III appreciation & impressions

"Ear Kegs" - MusicMaker Phantom III / Shockwave III appreciation & impressions

I use foam tips and EQ it heavily. But stock tuning is just fine for me. I just want to bring out its best sound. But the foam tips is a must.

"Ear Kegs" - MusicMaker Phantom III / Shockwave III appreciation & impressions

I think M50X is not sibilant, If at all, its warm-sounding, but that's just maybe me hehe. The HE400i is a bit harsh but I EQ it heavily. I would say the SWIII registers lower than the M50X but not piercing as the HE400i. His name is Rome Mercado. He's also of HEEP. Buy now or you'll forever...

"Ear Kegs" - MusicMaker Phantom III / Shockwave III appreciation & impressions

Larry, None of that treble peaks or anything. If you're in the Metro, I'm willing to meet up with you so that you may try it. I ordered it through one of the local resellers. It's cheaper. He's from HEEP and FAC. I'm sure you're a member.

"Ear Kegs" - MusicMaker Phantom III / Shockwave III appreciation & impressions

Larry, I have the mmcx version and I didn't experience any sibilance being complained of by others. I think its better using balanced cables as there is a noticeable improvement especially in the bass. It goes deeper. Just simply amazing As my prior posts here states, I have tested it side by...

"Ear Kegs" - MusicMaker Phantom III / Shockwave III appreciation & impressions

Got the CCA C16's mainly due to the recommendation here. Got it at almost half the price being 2nd hand. Tested it just now side by side with the SW3 using the mojo. To me, SW3 still beats the CCA. No competition in the sub-bass and bass. SW3 is better at the mids. As an all BA configuration...

    FiiO X7 Mk II 2GB RAM + 64GB ROM + ESS9028 PRO + Balanced + DSD + BT 4.1 aptX + Dual mSD + Dual Band WiFi + Opt Out

@FiiO Would this mean that, with the new firmware, I can no longer use viper EQ on the FiiO player app? That would be troubling...

"Ear Kegs" - MusicMaker Phantom III / Shockwave III appreciation & impressions

    I think I found these settings in this thread or I may be wrong, but this is what I use and I find it really good. No sibilance even with the mmcx version. 31khz = -5, 62 khz = - 5 125 khz = -6.5 250khz= -12 500khz = -12 1k = -9 2k= -9 4k = -12 8k = -12 16k= -1.8

"Ear Kegs" - MusicMaker Phantom III / Shockwave III appreciation & impressions

Hi, In just use the Fiio 2.5 cables "RC-SE1B". It's fairly cheap and I have no issues at all. It's already a year old. The problem with other cables is the memory wire that's supposed to go over "behind the ear". The Fiio's do not have these. I find that the copper cables are best for...

Sir @RockStar2005, Would you mind stating the specific values of the EQ settings for the Main EQ? I'm having trouble determining the exact values. I just got the Neo's and I was hoping to try it out. Thank you.

"Ear Kegs" - MusicMaker Phantom III / Shockwave III appreciation & impressions

I got the vsonic gr07 bass edition just to see what the fuss was about. They say its a legend and have that bass rumble we love. While it is a good iem, its still inferior to the sw3 by far. The gr07 are mid cannons with sibilance up top. Bass was good but not at par with the sw3. With the...
