The "notorious" Sennheiser HD280 Pro...Review
I just got a set of these as well from a member on here slightly used and I have to say they were totally worth it especially since they only cost me $55. My other set of cans are the Sennheiser HD 555's which weren't cutting it at work being completely open headphones. I needed something to...- JSchwage

FiiO E17 "ALPEN" - First Impression + Final Thought
Quote: Yeah uninstalling programs from OS X isn't nearly as streamlined as Windows still. Perhaps try AppZapper or a similar uninstaller program and see if it'll remove the extra leftover files for you. There's a bunch of free ones out there if you'd rather not pay for AppZapper.- JSchwage

FiiO E17 "ALPEN" - First Impression + Final Thought
Quote: Depends on what you're coming from? Are you using any type of DAC or amp right now? If you'd like to use the E17 just for the DAC feature you'll need to get the FiiO L7 which plugs into the dock port and has a micro-USB port and line out on the other side.- JSchwage

DT250 pads on HD 280 Pro
Hey all, Just picked up some HD 280 Pros from another member and I'm really enjoying these for my set of closed cans. Only issue I have with them is they get somewhat uncomfortable after a couple hours. They come with pleather pads and I've grown accustomed to the velour pads on my HD...- JSchwage

Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners
I've just recently become the owner of a McIntosh MAC 4100 receiver that I inherited from my father along with a couple McIntosh XR14 loudspeakers. At this point I don't have room for the speakers in my apartment but I have to say I have been thoroughly been enjoying using the headphone output...- JSchwage

FiiO E17 "ALPEN" - First Impression + Final Thought
Just got mine today as well. Love this thing! Had an issue with the clicking sound at first but I've worked around that and I knew about it before I bought it. All in all a great little DAC/amp, although my little pouch also smelled like gasoline as others have mentioned. Yuck.- JSchwage

Most Comfortable full sized Headphones
I have to say my Sennheiser HD 555's are crazy comfy after breaking them in. At first they had a little bit too much clamping force but a few days after I got them they started breaking in and now I can wear them all day long at work for 8 hours and not have any discomfort.- JSchwage

Confirmed List of USB DAC's for the Galaxy S3 (international &US) or Note 2
I see the FiiO E7 is supported but what about the E17? I'd assume it would work but I'm not sure. I'm seriously considering switching from my iPhone to the Galaxy S3 (or S4) due to the ability of being able to use USB DACs. EDIT: Nevermind. I found my answer. :(- JSchwage

FiiO E17 "ALPEN" - First Impression + Final Thought
Quote: The E17 has a more powerful amp. From what I recall the E07K can only drive headphones up to the 150-ish ohm range whereas the E17 can drive 300 ohm headphones. This is one reason the E07K lasts much longer on the battery. The E07K and E17 contain the same DAC if I recall...- JSchwage

FiiO E17 "ALPEN" - First Impression + Final Thought
Quote: If you'll be using your E17 plugged in all the time I would recommend running it off the battery for a few hours maybe once or twice a month just to keep the battery conditioned. Don't drain it completely though as this is actually worse for lithium ion batteries.- JSchwage

Good portable and foldable headphones under $100
Hey all, I am currently bringing my Sennheiser HD 555's to work every day and it's definitely less than ideal as they're quite large. I'm looking for a sub-$100 set of cans which will be very portable. I'd prefer a set that folds. A good reference set of cans for what I'm looking for would...- JSchwage

Fiio Andes (E07K) VS. Fiio E17: What's the difference, and how does it sway the amateur audiophile?
Quote: E07K should drive those headphones just fine. I believe the headphone impedance on the E07k is a maximum of 150Ω. The E17 works with up to 300Ω.- JSchwage

FiiO E11 & E11K & A3 Information + Support
Quote: If you're looking to use an amplifier with your laptop you'll most likely want to get something that's a DAC as well as an amp. This will plug in via the USB port on your laptop to bypass the internal sound card and give you cleaner sound. Take a look at the FiiO E07K. I think that...- JSchwage

FiiO Mont Blanc/E12 portable headphone amp, 880mW, slim design, full metal case. Bass boost and Cross feed!
Can't wait for this to be more readily available. I think this is the amp I want. Was looking at the E07K but I really like the looks of this one! I'll just get a DAC later on.- JSchwage

Looking to improve my portable car audio setup
Yeah. I have looked into getting a sound processor which would take the high-level output from my factory stereo and turn it into a low-level output so it can be passed on through an amp. Problem is it's gonna be expensive to do all that. I'll just deal with the "okay" sound in my car in favor...- JSchwage
