Essentially the title. I don't know whether the increased cost (essentially 3x the price) of the DT 1990 is worth it over the quality you get with the DT 880 Editions. Can anyone chime in as to whether they are or not? Thanks.

I tested it while the driver and membrane weren't being held by the retaining ring and it still rattled, so I don't think it's the ring rattling that's causing the problem.

I'm looking for a comparison between the two really, or even between the 599 and the dt990 pros. The 599s are £90 which is about $120, so a little over the $100 price point. The £120 TYGRs being around $160. I'm really quite stuck lol.

Interesting, how do they compare? They are quite a bit more expensive than the 990s here in the UK (£170 compared to £108) but I'll certainly keep them in mind!

I wouldn't call them bad by any means, they are a technically great headphone. But they're certainly not what I'd call exciting or 'fun' to listen to.

I've recently had the same problem as you, and personally I'd either go with a pair of DT 990 pros or HD 560s's, they're pretty great value, but I must admit I still haven't decided between the two.

I was looking at buying new purely for the warranty. I've actually had a pair of 250 ohm headphones before so driving the DTs shouldn't be an issue, hopefully. Out of curiosity which of the three original options would you take? Thanks for your help by the way!
