Sennheiser Orpheus HE60 Pads for the HD650?

I own the HD650 and while I find it a fantastic headphone, there is one bothersome feature about it: the earpads. They don't have wide enough openings for my ears to breathe well at times. They also aren't deep enough, necessitating me to remove the foam baffle covers to stop my ears from...

Entering electrostats - where's the sweet spot for a nice setup?

I'm not in any hurry, as I haven't collected the cash yet. But I think that I somewhere along the road will get into electrostats. I have only listened to HE-60 and a Stax model which name I forgot. These HE-60 are pretty high end, and they sounded incredibly good. What I recall is impressive...

Hey guys,     I searched Head-fi, and didn't find a thread dedicated to HE60 (though I found scattered discussions on various sub-forums; please let me know if there is one dedicated thread already), so I think I'll start one here. I'm still waiting for the HE60/HEV70 that is now being...

Advice needed on a 'final' TOTL Electrostatic amp within $2k price range.

Alright, it’s time for an electrostatic amplifier upgrade, enough with issues from aging tube electrostatics or DIY’s done by others.  I’m thinking of finally purchasing something brand new from a reputable dealer that will not only have some kind of warranty, but longevity in the long run...

    HD650 Alternative Pads?

Hello everyone, does anyone know of any other alternative to the stock HD650 velour pads? Thoughts on the Sennheiser HE60 / HEV70 'Baby Orpheus' with the Meridian 508.20 or 508.24?

Does anyone own the Sennheiser HE60 headphones and HEV70 amplifier coupled with a 508 series Meridian CD player?  My thinking is this should provide a highly detailed but 'caramelly sweet' sound.  I primarily listen to jazz, classic rock and some modern rock and pop.
