LCD-X Successor?
If I was a betting man I would wager Audeze is making a new line in addition to their current offerings.

Reference
LCD
Gaming

And now a Mixing/Mastering line. Probably an open and closed back for Studio use.

Isn’t that what their LCD-X/XC are being marketed as? I think they will either insert this model into the middle of their line-up (possibly dropping the MX-4 or something) or they will add this model and a closed back to the top of their “reference” line and slowly trickle down the tech.

You might be right. I have a very hard time thinking this is another TOTL like the LCD5, CRBN or LCDR. I agree with you that this is probably a middle line-up type of product.

The announcement of this coming the same day as NAMM 2022 and a week out from Can Jam Chicago leads me to believe this is more of a studio tool. Especially with a name like Manny Marroquin attached to it.

Ya I agree it sounds like a studio tool. Could be a great product - I’ve always loved the technicalities of Audezes but their upper mids can be pretty “off” sounding to me. If they could get that a little more conventional/studio neutral etc. I think they’d knock it out of the park once again.

One can only hope they’re redoing the whole lineup with the new chassis/housing from the LCD-5.
Looks to be an LCD-X/MX-4 successor in this case.

I can’t imagine Audeze bringing the LCD5 chassis down to the LCDX price point so quickly.

Im guessing this will be an alternate tuning of the LCD5 . The question is pricing. I’m guessing $3499 or maybe even closer to LCD5.

There’s an outside chance they may try their luck and charge $4999 .

My bet is it'll be a sub $2000 true studio reference monitor made for studio mastering and mixing.

We'll all find out tomorrow.

No way they bring that LCD5 chassis below $2k . I hope you’re right though….
It's the smart move. Everyone wants lighter more comfortable Audeze cans. It's the number one complaint across the range. Wouldn't have to be the same fancy materials, just the principle size and weight benefit of using the same geometry to refresh old cans.
But that's just my hope.

I will pre order this If that’s the case. Haven’t had an Audeze since the LCD-3 days.
