Great move by Audeze to start modernising their chassis across the range. That plus the updated tuning makes them a better competitor to the likes of Hifiman. I’d go with Audeze every time for their build quality and better warranty and customer service. Hopefully makes everyone else up their game.

I can see that the earpads are more reminiscent of the earlier LCD line, so I would expect this to sound very close closer to the LCD-R / 4, assuming it is using the same parallel uniforce diaphragm tech as the LCD-R and LCD-5.
They look great but unfortunately the real test will be how they fare when we look at the FR measurements. I’m hopeful for harmonesque with completely flat bass response and a bit less ear gain at the 4k region… somewhat like the LCD-5 but with some better high frequency extension. Fingers are crossed! I really feel the 2021 LCD-X has lost that tight and punchy bass the Audezes are known for in exchange for a bit more ear gain (and not even enough to make it worth losing the bass imo). Let’s hope you can get the best of both worlds with this one!
I don't know, I like the MX4 but also really wish for a LCD Pro 2021 tuning (LCD-X 2021 in the magnesium chassis). My MX4 is 476g, sounds better than my pre-2021 LCD-X, and only needs a leather strap replacement to be good for a long time.
