Hi! everybody!
I am looking for a great pair of cans for headphones.
I want to be slapped in the face when prayer poisition by periphery start and still I want clearity in complex passages full of instruments like haken's songs and I also want to enjoy orchestral, calmer, full of details songs.
I want headphones good with the gritness of low-tuned guitars and growls, but that delivers outstanding performances wit electornic, prog, and jazz anyway. I like neutralish headphones.
I have an audient id4, I could spend some money for an amp if needed.
Budget is below 1500, possibly not going in the realm of "more money means no important marginal gain in value".
As far as I understood, hd650 might do trick, what else do you think is good for me? Apparently focal do not have enough bass, and alternatives are above my budget. Also, do you know monolith monoprice 1060? how's that?
You say you like neutralish headphone’s but Focal’s don’t have enough bass. Haven’t found any Focal’s to be bass light so if you want more bass than them we are not talking about neutralish and the HD 650’s are not that at all.
I reflected upon everything you said here and also my experience in the headphone shop.
About bass response and metal, I still liked my m40x with my current setup better then the lcd2 or hd800 or the closed Denon.
The headphones mentioned above, including the hd660s don’t match the technicalities and pleasure I get with my p1.
Still, I kept thinking about the hd660s, because of their super buttery feeling that would give something i don’t have right now and the super comfort that would mean a lot as a desktop headphone to be used when working.
Still, 420€ for that technical performance cannot be justified, so I am thinking on buying the hd6xx. The problem is that they are 300ohm and I have no idea whether my AKsr15 is enough to drive them, or more importantly, if the audience id4 is enough to drive them.
If hd6xx needs a new amp, I would like to spent 100-150€ for that and having something that can be connected to the audience, otherwise I would need a combo, possibly providing a different sound signature from the cyrrus AK and audient.
Since you are really leaning towards the HD6XX to go with your SR15 and you are thinking about a workplace solution, then just get these cables and consider getting these "spacious" and "neutral" studio monitors and balanced cables for when you don't want to use the HD6XX:

I wish i could rely on monitors!! The only reason why i need comfortable headphones is that i am a "Nomad" And change nations quite often moving by plane and i need to be able to nove everything in a luggage

Then get this amp (make sure you get the eu plug adapter for the included iPower X, though), 2.5mm-to-4.4mm adapters, and RCA cables to connect to hotel TVs :

One of best fun cans I've heard are Fostex TH900. They're closed and glorious on rock music which I listen to a lot. Other than those, I also wouldn't exclude Senns HD 600/650. They're great all-rounders and properly fleshy for rock/metal genres, but at the same time they heavily depend on a setup.
