Ah! You’re like our new Personal Audio Manager Alan Lin. He is TSAVAlan here on HeadFi or you can call him at 310-534-9900. Ask his opinion on that topic since he knows that genre better.
Does anyone know if the Focal Clear ear pads and cables will be sold separately for use with the Elear? I see that Moon Audio already has the case on pre-order and I'm hoping the other accessories will follow.

The answer is .......YES! They don’t have enough to sell parts until after they fill the initial orders so it’s likely a ways out ...December/January is my bet. The case is shipping here in the US in about a month
I think (due to you liking warmth and more bass in general) the Clear would be more to your liking... I love the Utopia listening to Opeth, and I told people that in the Utopia thread I believe?
The Utopia is able to keep excellent pace (speed wise) and also instrument separation is top notch! So you can have really fast kick drums and the rest of the music doesn't get nearly as muddy as other cans. That is why I like the Utopia and metal...
Now the Clear on the other hand has more bass than the Utopia, but not as much as the Elear. The top end has just a hair taken off to make it less fatiguing then the Utopia's treble extension. For these reasons I think the Clear would also fit the bill. BUT it depends on how much bass you are looking for...
Any comparison to HE-560? I know the price difference is huge, but I have been looking for a headphone in the 1K+ price range that has the same sound signature. The Elear's had too much upper mid dip. If not for that, it would have been perfect.

I would take This Hifiman over elear any day of the week. Not only you save money, but you will also get more capable headphones. Even for same money i would take Hifiman. Clear... that might be different story...
As an Elear owner I'm really pleased about the Clear's arrival. They look gorgeous, but I love the Elear so no desire to "up"grade; what I do want is the Clear's 1.2m cable!
Audio Sanctuary (or any trade members) do you know if you'll be getting any in to buy separately?
I’m very interested in these. I owned a pair of Focal 1008 Be loudspeakers for several years and enjoyed the sound and loved the fit and finish. The Utopia is way out of my budget, but if the Clear can approach them at $1,500, then I may go for it.
I really like the way they look, too, with the grey and silver finish. If I do buy them, it’s going to necessitate a new balanced amp as well.
Hello, folks. I listen to mostly Jazz, Pop and Hip-Hop. My current cans are the D7000s. I was considering the LCD-X, LCD-3 and some of the ZMF's before watching some of the new video reviews.
Has anyone been able to listen to either of those genres to any meaningful degree? Impressions would really help me make a good decision here. I like bass.
