At this point, I'll only believe these actually getting released when I see it. Seems like they may not actually be selling them, just demo'ing them. 

The dealers I've contacted either have no idea, aren't saying, or don't reply. 

. I'm feeling you on that. It's real and it's coming. I understand your frustration. In the defense of some dealers Focal North America was sending out inaccurate information without realizing it. They've been doing there best to get the dealers the most current delivery estimates. The dealers are reluctant and they have cause. The ones that are still promising mid month are the ones that aren't listening to their factory reps, maybe? The Source AV gets its shipments directly from France and that is how we know what is going on with our allocation. Good news today was they are in production and will be getting them into the dealers later this month and early next month. Focal expects full production with lots of inventory by Oct 1st 2016. Keep the faith and they'll be here soon!

Great question, I really hope its not a high output impedance amp which will alter the sound signature of the headphones.

Meets should use neutral front ends especially for new cans so we know what they sound like.

Maybe people looked at the measurments and thought it looked like the hd650s. I don't think that will be the case. When I owned the 650s they sounded dry and lacking dynamics too me (used a Gs1 and benchmark HDR).

The reports of the Elear don't sound like that at all and the utopia seems even more dynamic (from the reports).

Most people I know who have heard the Elear are making that comparison. I was saying it well before I ever saw a graph of the FR.

That's not 100% true! We've been loaning to hear-fi meets whenever possible and we have them on display for 1.5 months. Hundreds of people have touched them, felt them and even listen to them many times. Lots of people have bought them as a result!
