Yeah I get that. I just don't get what's wrong with them.

Different strokes I guess...
That's not 100% true! We've been loaning to hear-fi meets whenever possible and we have them on display for 1.5 months. Hundreds of people have touched them, felt them and even listen to them many times. Lots of people have bought them as a result!
Thanks for making the rest of us who aren't lucky enough to live in the US, or near your store feel totally out of it! You guys have it so good you know. Try living at the arse end of the world and getting everything last and at twice the price. Fancy shipping a pair over for us Antipodeans?

Not a fan of micro fiber, they tend to be lint and dust magnets, besides looking out of place in an otherwise premium device.

Why would these be for sale in the US first anyway when they are made in France?!?

I guess is the company's decision which market they want to hit first. I remember Ultrasone (a German company) launching products first in the far East before going to the rest of the world.

These headphones look alright, nice and simple design. I don't know what's up with that scribble on the earcup exterior though, looks like one of those notebook pencil tornadoes that everyone drew in their notebooks when they were bored in school.
But, of course, the sound is where it is

That's never really been a complaint I've heard on the HD800/S. Do you ever see anyone switching those earpads out to leather ones, or something?

Any idea when these will hit the market in the EU?
Let's try it a different way... Are there any online stores in the US selling these?

Not yet, they have not been released. You can preorder them several places however.

Consider yourself lucky that they even reach your shores..... they never will in my country. and even if they do try at least triple the price. i saw a M-Audio Q40 once in a store for US$300..... At that time they retailed in the US for about $110-$140... And I dont think any Online retailers would ship to me... So that leaves me having to jump through all kinds of hoops just to get them if I were to ever try to.
