I sent in a blown vintage 325 around same time as you and realized today that I might have the same cable as you, it measures about 5mm thick. Is this any indication of the 4 conductor cable vs the 8?
Grado customer support was mum on the subject when I asked how to differentiate cables and drivers.

325x cable on left, “80x” cable on right:

Ill try asking Grado for some clarification, again. Will update.

I did a quick cable diameter measure with naked eye and ruler, sorry no calipers. 325x ~7mm, “80x” ~5mm.

If you go to '4ourears.com' or to 'gradolabs.com', scroll down in the Prestige Series section, 325x is described as having 8-conductor cable while 80x is described as having 4-conductor cable.

So youre saying they replaced Mr.Sneis’s 8-core cable with a 4-core cable?

======

@Mr.Sneis Try messaging Grado customer support. When I did the same in your situation they advised me to send to them for evaluation and for possible correction. Ive not followed through yet. I was going to compare my “80x” vs 325x first…

No. That is indeterminate for me. Mr. Sneis sent in a vintage 325. I do not know what core cable was originally used in that.

YES! Without question! I have both the GS2000e and the current flagship, GS3000x. I prefer the GE2000e, as to me it is brighter and more spacious while having good bass. However, there are several who discount the GS2000e as having a “wonky” response, so I may be in the minority or off in left field. ***I also have the Grado “forever” flagship, the PS2000e, which I would place ahead of both.***

Oh, and I have 22 other Grados! See my signature for a link to comparison of some.

I am wondering if these are legit. Seems to have a 3.5mm plug and 1/8” adapter. Thought these ones came with an 1/8” plug.

Any thoughts

Don't know if anyone mentioned yet but the early version was the larger tip. With the flexible short adapter to use for 3.5m . The newer , E , version was when they went 3.5m direct , then with a gold adaptor. Your grado don't show the , E , . But they could be the early. 325is . Silver . The early , E , really. They look genuine
