Noble EDC Velvet

Having used the Velvets for a few weeks, I echo Money’s findings. The Velvets are probably one of the most refined and mature IEMs in its price range for what I assume would be Noble’s primary focus for their target buyer. Summing up the Velvets in a marketing buzz phrase, “The IEM for the on-the-move pop/rock/r&b/hip hop/EDM fan with demanding and discerning ears”.
Your buzz phrase is spot on. I just recieved mine and have been listening to them while out on a three hour walk.

Colour me impressed

These are very fun, but I think the vocals are a bit too recessed for standard pop and rock to be the primary focus. EDM, hip hop, and r&b makes complete sense though. I try listening to jazz, rock, and some other genres on occasion, but the 3 aforementioned genres really get the blood boiling while working out, while others just don't seem to get the same vigor from these iems in playback.

Yes, we have different edc products in the works, different price points, different sound qualities, different features etc

This party is just getting started

I totally understand, that the EDC will be a line of products, not merely the one before us. This first showing was incredible, especially for the price, (I primarily use them for working out because of how light they are) and I'm excited at the prospect for a pair of iems that really put the spotlight on the mids. If that's in the pipeline, you'll have another order pending in short... well... order. :)

That's interesting, I don't find the vocals recessed. Fairly obviously we all hear things differently and we all have different tastes

Perhaps it's more appropriate to say the mids are slightly overwhelmed by the bass. Which isn't necessarily bad. But these guys weren't kidding when they said the bass will surprise you. I listen to jazz, and the standing bass will pretty easily overpower the vocals in many recordings. In electronic music, the beat is primary, so that presentation works in the velvets favor. And in all instances, they never fatigue. They're smooth as silk...Velvet even. :)

Tic Toc

Won't be long, I've been working on this one for a while now, been hard holding my tongue.

Comparatively speaking, it will not hurt your wallet too bad at all.

Some time later and many more hours into the velvets...
1)Using them with Comply foam tips has been incredible. I can be on an exercise bike in a small workout room and not hear the loudest door open. I'm finding certain artists like Zedd ("Stay the Night feat. Hayley Williams") and Major Lazer ("Lean On") really pop.

Bought a pair of edc velvet recently. As with most reviews, the impression I got with these were the upper bass region are quite emphasized, which makes the overall sound signature thick and slightly woolly/muddy. Vocals were very natural though. Highs were very much in the background.

I yearned for a more open sound, so I did a little mod. I used a needle to poke through the "super acoustic tuning mesh" and pulled it off, leaving the sound port tube open. This resulted in a brighter sound, the boominess was gone, but the highs sounded a tad bright and piercing. So I put a tiny piece of sponge (about 2-3mm) into the sound tube, positioning it flush with the opening instead of pushing it all the way in. This tamed the highs. The modded edc velvet now sounds open with very good detail retrieval and more fluid bass. The mids and highs have gotten more prominent but loses a tad of warmth. The sponge amount can probably be increased to suit one's taste.
